Sony confirms Heavenly Sword demo in Europe this Thursday

We knew the demo was done, but now we officially find out that many will get to experience the intensity of Heavenly Sword this Thursday. We hope it ends up being everyone, but we only have confirmation of Europe at this point from EuroGamer. IGN says it should "hit other territories around the same time as Europe, according to Sony." Hopefully this Thursday, PS3 owners will be able to experience the demo – the same one used at Sony's Gamer Day – that everyone has been desperately trying not to call Goddess of War.

Heavenly Sword is expected in September, giving PS3 owners something to play while Xbox owners immerse themselves in all things Halo 3. Heavenly Sword is one of the games coming this fall which will hold the system together through this non-critical holiday season. We're just glad to finally be able to play a good PS3 exclusive that doesn't start with Resistance and end with Fall of Man.

Somehow I've been losing interest in this game the more I see of it. Especially those mo-cap scenes. Oh man it somehow seems more Uncanny Valley every time. And all the brown...

Actually shag hvnlsword has been a fan of the game for a while now. So you're only making yourself look like an ass.

As for the Wii I love the controls and you can lie to yourself all you want but button mashing with Goddess of War is NOT anything new.

We've seen this game before. Now its just a female. And shes in hot clothes.

This game has me giddy with excitement. I normally do not care for hack-n-slash, but I will make an exception for this one. It has some of the best graphics I have seen, the environments are HUGE, the animation looks amazing, and so far most of the previews have said that the AI is much better than most games in this genre.

Kudos to Ninja Theory for getting this demo done alomst 2 months from the release of the game. If the demo is a good indicator of the final game, this is sure to sell more PS3 systems.

Nice job this week Sony, you have given us a firmware update and this awsome demo. Keep it up, take the gloves off and give it to Bill and Pals. Just be careful as he is bleeding money all over the place and you never know what might be in Bill's blood.

Have you played this yet? How do you know it's any good? For all you know it could suck and would just solidify people's views that the PS3 is overpriced and overhyped.

And I actually own a PS3. I'm looking forward to the demo, but I have no idea what to expect. If it is actually like God of War, then that would be a good thing in my book. If it's just a mediocre imitation or more like a Dynasty Warriors game, I'll probably pass on the final product.

Wow man, you guys, esp jonny, can't help but thrash everything and anything that has to do with the ps3. You keep talking about "fony trolls" as you call them, by the way, you should really look up that on wikipedia, you know, the word you use so much but never in the right way. You are in fact being a the troll on this subject, while the ps3 guys are just saying, looks great, cant wait to play. Go stick to whatever system you have cause apparently your just here to start crap with people, not have a discussion the gaming community. Did anyone even read the hands on review? It specifically said that the left arms weapons with L2 and right with R2. It's not X button attack mashing. It will take some skill to wield and even more skill executing combos. When you bash something without even knowing what you are talking about, it make you sound like a moron. Something I'm sure you are used to anyway.

This game is a must have and probably one of the most anticipated games coming out this fall for any system.

And I agree with Stockpile, some of you need to get a life and quit complaining about something you "apparently" have no interest in. Do some of you actually think that by bashing a system day in and day out is going to change other people's views of the PS3? Not IMO and it makes you look really pathetic.

Also, you may not have noticed but many of the PS3's biggest critics are starting to come around and show it some love. Maybe some of you PS3 critics should actually play the PS3(and I am not talking about in-store demos) before making judgement on the system.

I read a worrying comment that this is more like an arena fighting game, which I suppose means restricted areas - anyone has any dope on that, would we see some open environments as well. In any case this and Lair would seem like top buys for this year.
