Konami announces Metal Gear Solid for mobile phones
Though you might not consider a cell phone game to be a "real" addition to the franchise (on account of it being phoney, you see), you can take solace in the fact that a mobile Metal Gear Solid will bring a whole new level of realism to those infamous codec calls. "Hello, is this the colonel? An earth-shattering megaton, you say? Metal Gear?! Konami announced a 3D MGS cell phone game at their 20th Anniversary event in Tokyo? What do you mean that's it? Stop lying to me, colonel!"1UP says a release date and price have yet to be announced. The game is expected to come pre-loaded on a special Metal Gear-branded phone from Sony and may require you to speed dial the girlfriend whenever you want to save your progress.

They'll probably offer this game for free in the US from gamejump.com. All the other Konami games are available there.

Mobile games have reached the level to be quality games, it's just not looked at or thought of in North America and Eurozone.
After all, most mobiles these days can match up with Gameboy, Wonderswam, and Gamegear. All they need is gamers and big companies to look beyond them.
Which is rather funny as so many gamers used to complain no one took console games seriously, unlike PC games back in the day.
Any road, I look forward to it. Disega and Sim Tower on my phone needs company after all.

The only problem I have with playing games on my cellphone is that the controls are generally just plain effing horrible. There are a certain few games that are able to utilize the numpad in a good way, Konami always does a good job, and I hope that this game will actually be fun to play, other than it being pretty and in the MGS universe.

Has no one here played Brothers in Arms 3D for mobile? That's a great example of an excellent mobile game.
