We know we don't have to say much about this awesome demo of Metal Gear Solid 4's gameplay, so we won't. But we did have to express a couple of thoughts. First, that part with the statue looks really awesome. We're still not crazy about all the menus you have to go through to camo yourself, but still awesome. In fact, the whole thing looks like a heck of a lot of fun.
Now, with that out of the way, we can tell you that this is also really weird. Like, Snake laying on a guy and choking him to sleep before he climbs into a barrel and spins so much he pukes, for example. There's other stuff too, but we don't want to ruin it for you. Just don't say we didn't warn you.

I'm not saying it will come to the 360, sometimes, I really doubt it will. I can only hope, because I happened to choose one system over the other, I will probably get a PS3 eventually.
But I just love, how extremely positive that it will port the 360 fanboys are..and then just how positive it will not port to the 360 the PS3 fanboys are.
This game is like God now, how many sides of a battle can say 'God will help us win this war'. It's just a game people.
Damn, the buffering is really bad(The Video) Is like everyone and their mother is trying to watch this, LOL. At least he keep the MGS 3 substance camera control scheme. But, damn, the sound effects. There's a lot of stuff going on(Background), it gives it a nice touch to the atmosphere. And the whole statue thing was freaking AWESOME! Can't wait.
unless konami loves losing cash.. it will be on 360.
the fact that the ps3 install base still isn't big enough plus the fact that there is a huge cry for it to be on 360.. it will come. that's too many sales to give up..
The outcry for MGS4 on 360 seems to be mostly people that just want it to not be exclusive; people that actually want to play it seem to be in the minority, or at least aren't being as vocal.
I think if it ever goes to 360, it will be with a "Substance" style re-vamp like MGS2 did, which won't be for a while.
they'll loose more cash working on it to make it fit on the 360 and if they do sales for it will suck.. remember MGS2.. yeah didnt sell that much.. and please stop with the damn install base crap.. PS3 as had a 138% sales boost in the last month while microsoft finaly admited that their console was rushed crap.
Well marcandrer if you're gonna be such a fanboy I'll have you know this. Chuck Norris prefers the 360. Hahaha, but seriously I'd imagine this would come the to 360 several months after the ps3 release especially if the public takes to it well with the initial ps3 release.
To much talking and not enough killing in the metal gear series. Now that ive rebought my bluray player I will give this game a whirl when it comes out.
I wouldn't say hate, but I agree. I use a Mac, (not sure if there's a relation) and I've never been able to download video from gamevideos.com.
The 1up, and GameVideos crew have some of the best insight on the net. I really think these guys have their finger on the pulse of gamers. But the site is lacking. I even like the graphic design of the site too!
Wow, I thought it was just me. Playing Gamevideos.com content on a mac seems to be both hit and miss. Sometimes it'll stream perfectly and sometimes it won't stream at all and that's in FireFox; Don't even bother with Safari.
How many times have they said this game was a PS3 exclusive. Keep hoping it comes to the XBOX360, but even if they were to start development right after the PS3 release it would take forever to port the game over (at least a year) at which point people will have bought the PS3 to play the exclusives coming this fall and next spring. I hope you get to play the game, but you either have a LONG wait or you'll have to fork out some cash for the PS3.
You're kidding right? You really think by late 08 the PS3 will be down enough in price that people will be buying them like hotcakes? Instead of following Moore's Law for consoles and reducing the price of the same system setup when production costs are reduced, Sony instead puts in an 80 GB for the exact same price and makes you buy the more expensive option at $600 still. I want to get a PS3 eventually, but not until Sony starts acting like a real company that is selling a game console and not PC graphics cards as their pricing strategies seems to be mimicking more.

Stop crying you Xbots. Just get a fucking PS3. You know it will be worth it. Keep in mind Kojima designed this game COMPLETELY BASED on the PS3's architecture and specs. It was programmed specifically using the Cell SPEs.
Kojima actually never said that at all. It's also curiously absent from Konami's PR release about the title.
All you can really count are the Sony guys saying it like 4 times during the conference and the vague idea that Kojima was "nodding" at the comment.
A week before a guy high up in Konami said if the PS3 sales don't pick up they'll consider other options. Considering the latest NPD sales data has the PS3 at less than 100k in the US, getting 150% more sales isn't a major save.
I am not sure it'll end up elsewhere (I doubt it), but at the same time, Konami definitely is not being very specific about it. I think this is just so they can keep their options open... even if that's just a 1% chance they can always fall back on "we didn't say that".
I dont understand, why does it matter if it does come to the 360? does that make the game any less good for PS3 owners? Do you guys feel that if its not exclusive to the PS3 then you cant justify your purchase? either way, NOT everyone wants this.
Why dose it matter if this game is an exclusive? I will tell you why. Games like this sell systems. The PS3 is In need of a system seller atm. If this game was not an exclusive (And it is BTW) It would be just one more reason not to buy a PS3.
And stop and think for a second. Do you realy want a game industry that is being run by MS and Nintendo? Keeping this game exclusive and sony alive is a good thing not only for PS3 owners but for all gamers! Remeber competition is a good thing!
Because fanboys need ways to "prove" that their toy is the coolest and that they are smart to only own one system. Fuck, I don't know. I want it to come to 360 because I probably won't have a PS3 for a while.
I got a 360 because owning an HDTV really made Oblivion and GRAW must have titles nearly a year before the PS3 was even out. I am happy with the 360 because I am big on RPG's and shooters and there are 5 big rpgs coming to 360 soon and zero coming to the PS3 until next year. They are both getting a good amount of shooters, with Killzone and Halo/Bioshock the only difference makers. This is not to mention the year of sweet HD gaming I had a year before the PS3 came out. All in all, I believe buying a 360 right away was a better decision than waiting a year to get a PS3, though owning everything is always the best.
So yeah, I want a PS3 and feel by itself it is worth the price. But, when you have 5 RPG's, GTA, an RTS, and a few shooters to get through by year's end on the system you own, it isn't worth it to get a second. So I really want as many games as possible to come to the system I own and then I can play the PS3 exclusives at my friend's house to at least get a taste of what I am missing out on. Eventually, if the PS3 becomes THE place for sweet games like the PS2 was, I definately will own one, unless the XBOX 720 or some new crazy shit is out.
So yeah, people like me that know they are missing out by not owning everything, but feel they own the best two console combination possible, want to get the new games without having to buy yet another system.
Heh, buy a PS3 to play this game? I'm sorry but I won't buy any console to play ONE game. Not to say the PS3 isn't good but it really doesn't offer anything I want. If this gets ported to the 360 I may play it, but as it stands now I don't know if I'll be able to keep up with the massive wave of games coming this fall/winter for my 360 and Wii.
I bought a ps3 just for littlebigplanet. right now im living off free rentals, demos, and GT:HD.
also i don't get how anyone can say stuff like "it's aiite but i dont like that snake's eyes don't have red veins in them, when he's 60 yrs old, is in a dusty desert environment, and his equipment clearly doesn't show any hypoallergenic eyedrops". he moves robotic? more blood and guts? dude--kojima can basically be like, "i think this is a cool idea, let's incorporate it." so you have maxim, dude holding a statue's balls, and of course cigs, all just so snake can de-stress after rolling over bad guys IN A BARREL. the game is packed with cool stuff. I mean, other devs have to give-and-take when making a video game (dirt doesn't have car v. car multiplayer, lair doesn't have on-foot combat, gt4 doesn't have car damage, etc.), but metal gear has everything you can think of plus awesome and funny things to surprise you (and freak you out). i haven't even watched the whole thing yet and i'm convinced that this is what ps3 finally needs--a complete game.
if you are going to complain about something, complain about the fact that we still cant create playlists and play mp3s in-game. 360 kicks my ps3's ass in the "duh features" department. snake is a pimp and mgs4 will be dope.
