Variety: Ubisoft's Heroes game likely revealed this weekend
NBC and Ubisoft aren't ready to talk about it yet, but Variety reports that the two are close to closing a deal that would let the French game company turn the sci-fi hit Heroes into a game. Though they're currently mum, there's a little convention in San Diego this weekend, and they might be able to find a few geeks there who would get excited about the news, if they wanted to unveil it there.
Though it may seem like a natural choice for a game version, what with the superpowers and all, we wonder if anyone at Ubisoft has considered the fact that there's very little actual hero-ing on Heroes. It's largely people talking to other people about their powers and only occasionally using them. Don't get us wrong, we love the show. We hope that Ubisoft doesn't try to jam it into an action mold.
That being said, there's the Reservoir Dogs game, which is either a knock against our argument or terrifying, irrefutable proof of it, we're not sure.

anyone with high hopes (or anything other than the lowest of expectations) for this game is a fool.
great fantastic awesome show, but like you said, much of the show is dialog.

I loved the first season of Heroes, but I wouldn't get the game... I hate to say it but so far the only successful video game movie / tv show is Chronicles of Riddick, and THAT wasn't really based off any TV show or movie... it was just Riddick kicking ass in a whole new story.
Same thing goes with the rumored Lost game, I love Lost, wouldn't buy the game... and to be honest the only way a Lost game would work is if you made exactly like Myst. But then no one would buy it, cause then people would say "This is just Myst."

movies: the lion king and aladdin (genesis/snes)
tv shows: Darkwing Duck and Duck Tales (NES)
other than those, I agree

Some notable TV/Movie games:
The Simpsons Arcade Game (Arcade)
The Goonies II (NES)
Die Hard Trilogy (PS1)
Spider-Man 2 (PS2)

The only way this could be cool is if they took an unknown character or a character from the comics and revolved the story around them and then relate them to the events that happened in season 1 somehow and in the future link that character back into the show like they're doing with the Origins spinoff. It would really be lame if they just took season 1 things and brought it into a game.

I hope they're at least making the graphics incredible.
I won't get it anyway, the goodness is in the dialog.

I don't watch much TV (too "busy" playing games) but I was hooked to season 1. However I too can't see how they would make it a good game. The show's defintely more drama than action. Maybe if they make it in the light of a choose your own adventure book and you make decisions for the charcters. I don't know...

DON'T DO THIS, DO NOT MAKE THIS GAME. PLEASE.
I've already fallen in love with Heroes... I... I couldn't bear to have my heart broken again... *sniff*...

Unless they make it so I can have Nikki/Jessica rip the Cheerleaders clothes off, I'm not interested. But I'm sure this game will sell like gangbusters, just like every other game based on a movie or TV series.
