Resident Evil 5 trailer gets extended

We thought that the Resident Evil 5 trailer shown at E3 was pretty incredible, but that's before we saw this new extended version. It makes that old trailer look positively grody by comparison. What's so great about the new trailer? How about Chris Redfield talking? How about some actual gameplay footage? How about 27% more eye bleeding? Yeah, we thought that would get you going.

We got an email from Capcom just a moment ago confirming the extended version wouldn't be available on PSN until tomorrow. You sure this is the brandy new extended version embedded above that you're talking about?

dude i think the contrast is going to be there in-game. the whole premise is your eyes take time to adjust, light-versus-dark, so walking from shadows to light, inside to outside, etc., there are going to be short periods of time when you can't see what is going on. besides, these takes place in equatorial africa? there is some intense sunlight out there.

that trailer is getting me pumped. i cant believe how much zombie ass im going to kick.

That's why Chris should bring an eye patch. Pirates wore eye patches for night vision so they could quickly enter different light sources without their eyes taking major time to readjust.

I know I already talked about this, but I just decided to take a screenshot of RE4 and simply change the lighting to make it look like RE5.

I didn't spend much time on it, I'm just pointing out that the two games don't look a lot different except for the fancy lighting.

LOL! It looks like an HD enhanced Resident Evil 4 engine. My bet is that a Wii version will be announced sooner or later. I think CAPCOM wanted to see if there is a market for it on the Wii by releasing RE4:WE last month. Hopefully, they got the message that hardcore gamers own Wii' also.

I think his was more scorning their lack of a real graphical overhaul (aside from the natural push in polygons, effects, etc)

But the really realistic engines do tend to look alike, because they're all supposed to be, well, realistic

I was really hoping to see something different when gameplay video came around, but the scenarios shown were exactly like RE4 only with African ganados. I mean, seriously, it looks like the same animations, attacks, AI, everything...

Graphics are worthless without good controls. And after playing RE4 Wii Edition, I don't think I can ever go back to aiming (laming?) with a thumbstick.

damn this game looks good, it also looks harder. they're quite faster than re4 guanados or whatever. I hope you can find a pair of sunglassess in the game because those dark rooms are going to kill me everytime.

BTW i think the contrast is supposed to be like that, i remember hearing how they want you to be careful with the sun light because it takes time to adjust to the dark rooms.

Yeah, they should change the hero to be a black man. Black men killing black people is much less of a problem today in America than white guys killing black people and "oppressing" them. Its a GAME. Unless Chris is gonna be using the "n word" and throw in a couple of other racial epithets I think the game will be OKAY.

As for Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton they do NOT represent all black people or the black race as a whole. I for am sick and tired of them getting their big egos involved in things that do NOT concern them.

There was a big hullabaloo about "Sahara" doing pretty much the same thing. The movie (and the failed/cancelled game/company I worked on/for) had a white dude vs. a horde of black bad guys. There was plenty of uproar in the beginning, but nothing really ever came of it. We'll see what heppens when it's a game and not a movie, tho.

portions of it look fantastic and portions of it look pretty crappy (to be blunt) but seeing those swarms of enemies coming at you has me pumped for sure.
