...that, and the fact that you can actually make money with a pc...if you are, good enough.

So actually the price of a PC, is none, because you can learn to make money.

PC gaming...FTW!

You know what's even more "fuckin hilarious"?
Saying that the franchise started with
Unreal Tournament, and not UNREAL!!!

If it's 20% more game, they should make it available as a retail disc for the 360 for $20. Regardless of whether it's worth the $20, people are suckers for franchises (see: Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack).

Good for Epic - they put out (imho) the most kick-ass video game of all time, and they want to give people a reason to pick up a second copy.

If this type of stuff pisses you off, grow up - eventually you'll figure out the world doesn't revolve around you and your adolescent mindset.

Damn, I didn't mean to sound so harsh...oh well.

World doesn't revolve around me, no... But I'm pretty sure the 3 million+ adopters of the 360 version sure are going to feel a bit pissed.

So, adding a few models, a new level and a boss are IMPOSSIBLE to add to the exsisting game? You chat bullshit, Epic and all you're doing is trying to get us to buy the PC version. Well, guess what... If I wanted PC gaming, I wouldn't have bought a 360.
Now, stop your bullshit, add the content which IS obviously portable and stop fucking over the people who supported your short-ass game because it was an awesome experiance on 360.

You apparently don't understand video game development. If a development company thought it could make more money on a particular system then it would devote resources towards developing for that system.

Making video games is a business. If companies like Epic don't find creative ways to make more money then they go out of business and we, as a community, quit getting quality stuff. If you don't like the way a company runs their business then make your own video game development company and see if you can do better or stop buying their products but in no way fault a company for doing what's necessary to continue to stay in business. Capitalism FTW.

I was bummed for about 5 seconds and then realized that I don't really care. Gears was a damn good game but I've since moved on. Maybe now PC gamers get to play it this time around they'll be having too much fun to engage in their constant whiny console bashing...but I'm not holding my breath.

What a bunch of whiny pussies. This happens with EVERY game that's successful. Are Xbox gamers bitching about the Ninja Gaiden Sigma release as a stab in the back? Hell no, because they got to play the game a LONG time before PS3 owners did. Prices fall and content gets added over time. Next thing you will be bitching about the 360 getting a $50 price cut and that it's a slap in the face to the original owners.

As somebody already noted, Epic made games for PC long before GOW ever came out. Grow up and fuck right off.

I assume a lot of people are upset because they are pc gamers at heart, invest a good deal of money into their pc, then buy a 360 to compliment it, but the games that are out for the 360 also or eventually come out for the pc, so what was the point of buying the 360?

Well I'm in the boat that wants a 360, but I've put enough money into my pc that it's not worth getting for only one or two games that I want that I can't play on my pc.

I'm just wondering how long it will be before they announce mass effect for the pc.

PC gamers fighting with 360 gamers are just like DS gamers fighting with Wii gamers.

Either way, Microsoft/Nintendo and Epic wins.

However, the constant trading between PC and 360 will do more to hurt the 360 than the PC. I mean, why not just get a PS3 and Wii, then upgrade your PC when Halo and Mass Effect inevitably get ported?

If it weren't for me liking the 360 controller more than the PS3's and the PC's ridiculous upkeep costs, I'd consider it.

Just because it can't be ported at the push of a button doesn't mean anything. They could add the content just like they add any other content. They'd just have to program it and release it.

Sure, it would be a rather large download. But they could recycle textures to help keep the load down, which they are probably doing anyways.

The only real reason, and it is a good one, that they are not porting the content is because they want the PC version to be superior and more worthy of a purchase. It is coming out a year later, after all.

Epic is primarily a PC game developer. They are trying to make it up to PC gamers that they made a cool shooter and released it as a console only title. It is now coming to PC a year later with more content.

I don't really care. I love Gears and all, but this fall I will be far to busy with new games to spend time playing through a couple hours of new gameplay on a year old game that I have played the shit out of already.

It stings a bit, being a Gears fan and 360 owner, to have this happen. But it really isn't that big of a deal. I wouldn't have been pissed if they didn't make a PC version or new content for the 360 version, so why should I be pissed they are providing something for somebody else? It doesn't change what I expected getting, which was and still is a Gears2 about 15 months from now.

Who cares if its a big download....people download high def movies off video marketplace all the time. Shivering Isles was a full gigabyte...

It's just an excuse. They got greedy.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if this had something to do with Microsoft's Live content policy. We already know Epic is unhappy with it, coupled with the UT3/PS3 announcement...

I hope it has 360-controller support built in.

I bought a 360 controller to play lost planet, and I love it. PC gets 360's best games, and I even play them with the controller.

If you're such a fan of GoW, then buy both and shut the fuck up. I'm sure it will run fine on PC since it's coming out for XP as well. Just buy both and STFU. Damn whinners.

My computer can run any game that I've seen out so far, pretty smoothly at that.
And if anything needed an upgrade, it'd only be the RAM.
Which I can by another 2 GB easily.
I intend to laugh at all the poor people who whine about the cost of upgrades for their 5 year old PCs.
You know they wouldn't be good forever.
Get a job, earn some money.
The upgrades won't be so much of a problem. :]
