First trailer for Project Offset
Naturally, there isn't a release date in sight, just pretty graphics. We're going to assume that this is still coming to the PC and maybe Xbox 360.

Wow
bearattack79 @ Jul 30th 2007 5:14PM
This game looks like everything Oblivion wasn't.
Mike P @ Jul 31st 2007 3:46AM
I'm not doubting this game could be another great one but... Oblivion was one of the best games to come out last year! You can't just write it off after watching 15 seconds of footage.
The engine/game looks every bit as good as I thought it would. I really am looking forward to more from the Offset squad on this.
CJ @ Jul 30th 2007 5:19PM
This game looks like it would be fun to play. I dont know much about PS3's Lair but it could be a match for it. Oh and I am sure it will have multiplayer which everyone knows that Live is THE model to compare to as far as online gaming in the console world. I dont see PS3 ever getting up to par in that area. Ive played some online PS3 and I have to say, it blows
tmacairjordan87 @ Jul 30th 2007 5:22PM
actually joystiq has this partly wrong. The first time this game was actually previewed was in Official Playstation magazine around that year. The 3 makers of the original trailer intended it to be a ps3 and possibly PC game only, but were open to the possibility of a 360 version
SharpBlade @ Jul 31st 2007 12:59AM
tmacairjordan87:
I'm sorry but I don't know where you got your info but it's just plain wrong. This game was in development before the PS3 even launched. I've followed this game from it's early inception and if you browse the forums even the devs had said PC/Xbox 360, while the PS3 fans have been asking it about for awhile and always getting a "No" from them. I do know about the article you mentioned which has always puzzled me, because even after that article the devs have said NO PS3 VERSION. They still have not announced a publisher, and some are speculating that it's Microsoft. It's still a mystery and I almost consider this game vaporware.. But hopefully we will finally get some answers in early 08.
GearsMaster @ Jul 30th 2007 5:24PM
AWESOME!
Can't wait to hear more...
Mortensen @ Jul 30th 2007 5:24PM
I encourage a lot more of these titles on the consoles. If we are going to see more "American" oriented FPS at least have the player immersed in different worlds and time periods. If I see another WWII game come out I'm going to scream!!
AoE @ Jul 30th 2007 9:05PM
May as well start screaming now, and don't stop. Isn't WWII FPS a distinct genre these days, or does it just feel that way?
Dan @ Jul 31st 2007 2:51PM
Waan't the first FPS a WWII FPS? (Wolfenstein 3D)
GearsMaster @ Jul 30th 2007 5:24PM
Thats sick...
i want more vidoe footage. The graphics look amazing.
losttoys @ Jul 30th 2007 5:24PM
Last I checked Project Offset was a Xbox 360 Exclusive. MS bought the development team last year. At least I could have sworn it was.
bigbrew @ Jul 30th 2007 5:26PM
Wow.
Autopsy15 @ Jul 30th 2007 5:30PM
FINALLY! I've been waiting for this moment since '05! It looks just as awesome as it did back then. I hope they release some console information and release dates soon!
SSJRafiel @ Jul 30th 2007 5:32PM
this game was said to be xbox 360 and PC only back at last years E3 06. It was never mentioned to be for ps3 but at E32005 they said it was for nex-gen consoles that was why it was in both OXM and PSM too at that time.
KiraXD @ Jul 30th 2007 5:37PM
hmm i thought it was announced for PC and next gen "Consoles" (plural) i could be very wrong though...
either way.. ill get this for whatever platform it hits... looks really really cool (like someone said, everything oblivion wasnt)
brimnac @ Jul 30th 2007 5:38PM
Wow, two years and I still get a funny feeling when I watch this. It had almost left my memory. Almost... It's just too pretty.
Colin @ Jul 30th 2007 5:39PM
Gee... I wonder what their influences are... That said, combat looks rad, and the graphics are very pretty.
If you were wondering, the music was from the Kingdom of Heaven soundtrack, which is very worth picking up!
Ihya @ Jul 30th 2007 5:45PM
Guys this game will be released for PC, PS4 and Xbox 720.
Locos @ Jul 30th 2007 5:52PM
lol... now that gets it over with :)
the fanboys catfight i mean
Grindstone @ Jul 30th 2007 5:55PM
Sadly, I think you are right. This game may be a bit over-ambitious and probably too much for current consoles... but I hope not! I've been watching for this game for a while, and it never ceases to impress me. If the console version is too crippled, I'd consider upgrading my PC for it. But would highly prefer it on a console first.
Mark @ Jul 30th 2007 5:47PM
Anyone reminded of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic? This game has very similar promises of "rad" gameplay. Hopefully it doesn't fall flat like DM, though.
Megaqwerty @ Jul 31st 2007 4:26PM
I was actually thinking of Jedi Knight.
GodisaMyth @ Jul 30th 2007 5:53PM
This game was to appear on the PC and the PS3 only. I think talk of a 360 version has only started recently.
Still, very nice. If you go to the website they announce that this trailer was not meant for the puplic and they ask that it not be shown.
Yeah right. Obviously that is not going to happen.

I've been following Project Offset for a while, and I've never once heard any mention of the PS3 except by fans. So I'd like to know where your information comes from.
Kn1ves @ Jul 30th 2007 5:54PM
Its for the Nintendo Wii
Mortensen @ Jul 30th 2007 5:58PM
Some of you just like to make SH#@ up without backing it up with links. Check this out Fony Fanboys. NOTICE THE DATE OF THE ARTICLE AS WELL. I think some of you take your fanboyism too seriously and try to misinform the general public!!!!!!

required @ Jul 30th 2007 6:26PM
well that clears everything up, it is for the Nintendo Wii and DS only
hvnlysoldr @ Jul 30th 2007 7:17PM
It does look like a more realized Oblivion. That said I'd puke after the first hour. My Russian friend was playing it and I sat and gave some RPG advice. He almost felt like puking after an hour and I could almost feel what he meant. I can't handle first person games except Metroid Prime. And that's handled by the HUD and the fact that it's a FPA so I don't have to twitch the angle so much until battling enemies.
GodisaMyth @ Jul 30th 2007 7:37PM
I have the motion sickness problem also. Small planes, backseats of cars, anchored fishing boats, and any circular ride.
I have found that motion-sickness bracelets pretty much stop my motion sickness. I have not tried it in a FPS, but I would guess that it should work.
Lunarman55 @ Jul 30th 2007 7:32PM
Per the projectoffset website, www.ProjectOffset.com...this video was created for internal purposes and then leaked. Check the News section of ProjectOffset.com for the official post from POs creator Sam.
Dyabolik @ Jul 30th 2007 9:06PM
It's apparently over a year old as well.
RanWitScissorz @ Jul 30th 2007 7:59PM
@Mark
When I first saw it, I was thinking the exact same thing, the moment with the troll bashing on the door reminded me alot of Dark Messiah's 2nd or 3rd level when you ride the horse to the castle. Plus the swordplay in first person resembles it.
deevay @ Jul 30th 2007 8:56PM
this is like "Lair" but your the civilians on the grounds kinda thing..
Hiroken @ Jul 30th 2007 10:14PM
I really, really hope this comes to PS3. If it doesn't, I might finally have to get a 360--for this and Lost Odyssey.
Jeff @ Jul 30th 2007 11:43PM
Holy shit.
I want this.
Emceay @ Jul 31st 2007 2:00AM
Man, the troll bashing on the door reminded me of blog comments.
Ghen @ Jul 31st 2007 7:45AM
It looks good, I just hope it allows for left-handed perspective. games always feel weird to me with a right-handed character.
bearattack79 @ Jul 31st 2007 8:28AM
Looks Like!
kevinski @ Jul 31st 2007 9:31AM
I wonder how resource-intensive the game engine is. The lighting capabilities are amazing, but I, too, doubt that current consoles can handle this game in its true glory.
Nicholas @ Jul 31st 2007 9:45AM
My only question is: How the hell do you do a back roll while going upstairs? It really defies all kinds of physics and logics.
As for the rest, it is really kicking all kinds of asses.
Joe @ Aug 1st 2007 7:19PM
I can't wait for this game it looks like it will be fun.
I just hope that it will come out on either the 360 or PS3. Seeing as I do not have a powerful PC if it is to come out either of those systems I would be fine to get this game. I hope to hear more news on this game soon.
