I am all over this! I've been on GEARS all weekend promoting 300... why you ask? It's one of the best movies ever, and on HDDVD it's going to be awesome. Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead are the BIZZLE! Shooter is good too. I'm dropping some serious cash tomorrow! w00t!

the HD-DVD of 300 is breathtaking. Its ridiculous. if all HD-DVD's were of that quality, I would probably invest in an HD player of my own. As of right now, my low def DVDs will do.

Actually I believe NEEKO was referring to the cost of the HD DVD.

http://www.amazon.com/300-Combo-HD-DVD-Standard/dp/B000Q6GXW2/ref=sr_1_5/002-3899612-4452045?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1185822673&sr=1-5

Yes, it's about $28 bucks. It comes with some extra content that is only available on the HD DVD disc. Not to mention, it's going to look awesome. Especially if you have a monster of a TV with a good sound system.

The standard def version will come with a second disc with some of the same stuff on it, making of, etc. It seems that the bluray will be left in the dust as far as extras go, but it's a couple of bucks cheaper.

Thanks for reminding me, XB360FB. Just bought 300 and SotD at Amazon.

I really appreciate the "This Week in HD DVD" section, keep it going.

The HD-DVD version is more expensive because it's a "Combo" disc. It has both the DVD and HD-DVD versions on it and is playable in a DVD or HD-DVD player. I really wish they would stop doing that. I don't want to pay a lot of money for an HD-DVD/DVD combo disc when I only need the HD-DVD version of the movie. The Blue-ray version contains only Blue-ray content.
