Did you know that Heavenly Sword was originally an exclusive to the original Xbox? All the way back in 2003, Just Add Monsters (later to turn into Ninja Theory) released an E3 video of the title showing off some fairly significant design differences to what we're familiar with. For example, Nariko didn't have red, freakishly long hair -- instead having a more subdued short black haircut. The game itself also was clearly modeled closely after the Crouching Tiger style of movies, with a strong Chinese influence and wire-work combat moves. Also the life-draining Heavenly Sword looked pretty bland and crappy, not nearly as stylized and slick as it looks now.
At the same time, certain traits have stuck with it. Combat looks to still be very similar and the overall feel of the game doesn't appear to have changed much in the last four years. Check out the video above to see the evolution of Heavenly Sword as it's switched platforms and generations, it's interesting stuff.
