GameDaily: Nintendo's George Harrison announces retirement
Hot on the heels that the Big N is looking for someone to fill a top marketing position, GameDaily BIZ is reporting that George Harrison, a senior Nintendo VP, will be retiring from the company, though he will help transition the sales and marketing team from Redmond to New York.
According to "an industry source at a major publisher," Harrison, the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications for Nintendo, distributed a voice message at the company revealing his "early retirement." At this point, GameDaily is unsure if that means a retirement just from the House of Mario, or from games all together. Some of you may remember that Harrison's departure (along with Kaplan's and Beth Llewelyn's) was rumored by Game Informer in June. We wish the departing Harrison all the best.

Anyway, I suppose he made enough money at Nintendo that he COULD retire early, if he wanted to. But maybe that's just my cynical opinion of corporate VPs in general, that they get most of their company's profits when the company does insanely well...

Anyway, it does make way for new blood, which does seem to be Nintendo's battle cry of late...

I remeber he (his son) had all these GBA games that had stickers on them "Not for resale" or something like that. He had like a millon of them!

BTW Sir Paul McCartney's new album "Memory Almost Full" is absolutely amazing, I recomend that any fan of the Beatles or Sir Paul McCartney pick the album up!
That's why Nintendo is like pretty much the equivalent to games as the Beatles were to music.
Without him, how will Nintendo ever be so awesome again?

Not me. The man was an albatross. He was making ridiculous statements about an underwhelming console way before Kutaragi. His most memorable moment is still the time he dismissed Final Fantasy 7 as a slow and tedious game that nobody would want to play, while preaching the virtues of the N64's cartridge format.
How'd that work out for you, George?
