Here's to hoping another $50 price cut happens this fall once all the 65nm versions have been sold through.

I want to buy a 360 Elite in September but how will I know that it has the new 65nm chip? Would Microsoft actually put a label on the box to let the consumer know if has it inside?

I'll get an Elite once another price cut comes...and then it'll for sure include a smaller chip...

i love it how microsoft's thunder for various announcements always gets stolen. 65nm chips, price cut...LOL

@Chris

Do you think I could just ask Microsoft for a check for a new 360 when mine breaks? LOL That would be awesome.

@Jay2dahoe

I've been waiting (and waiting and waiting) on this too. I'm sure that between here and other tech blogs there will be a distinguishing feature announced (SKU # on the box) so... we'll just have to go into Wal-Mart and have the associates let us inspect each box for said number... at least that's how its worked with past revisions of PS1, PS2, Xbox etc... when there was a known new version out but no other distinguishing feature than a SKU number on the box, or beginning digits of a serial or something.

Anyway... good to see a bit of news on this again. Now f#$&ing release it already.

Hard to believe that little thing produces the whole reason we come here -- great games.

Anyway, it would be nice to know when those 65nm actually hit the streets. Not that it would affect me since my 12/05 model hasn't quit yet, but still, so MSoft can instill consumer confidence again.

The constant advancment in computer technology and how the older stuff just gets smaller and eaiser to make is scary. Comparable only to the growth a Saiyan undergoes through countles battles.

"So, we get confirmation of our cooler, more efficient 65nm chips making there way into 360s sometime this year with 45nm technology rolling out in a year or so."

Why do bloggers never seem to know English?

I am waiting for comformation of the new chips before I go out to buy a new elite since my 7 month old premuim system blew up and Microsoft refused to fix saying it had been opened!! I bought it sealed and never opened it but, got the microsoft screwing along with many others on these bunk systems. If they didn't have the best games out there I would say screw it!!! The 360 is the system I hate to love. I guess this time I will buy the extended warrenty through a secondary company so when Microsoft drops the ball, my 360 will get fixed or replaced regaurdless!!!!!!
