From what I understood, you pick from a list and it's in tiers. So you can only pick 1 HD-DVD from each tier.

I got a really quick question... Well since Best Buy is sold out of their HD-DVD players, but Circuit City matches... Is their a specific ad that I can show Circuit City, because online it says it's 179.99 [on Best Buy's website]... or a receipt of some type?

Strange - wonder if the Best Buy discount was a screw-up. Looks like they changed the price back on the website to 179. I bought mine today at my local Best Buy and they still had the price point at 200, but I got it for 150 after showing them the online price.

In my opinion these are better choices then the 5 free blu-ray movies you get to choose from when buying a Blu Ray or PS3. I wish the x had not gotten me this player.

@5 Its amazing the features HD has over Blu Ray movies. If you look at the movie 300, which is on blu or HD. Take a look at the back of the movie and you will see that HD has many more features then the Blu version. I have a PS3 also but theres nothing to play (games)until Lair comes out, but I will always buy the HD versions of movies before Blu-Ray

@6 yes, they will match online prices, I would print it off and go to your local Circuit city. Inform them of the fact that it is online for 149.99. I would only pull out the printed copy if they ask for it. Because when I bought my PS3 I said that online it stated that I would get an extra controller for free and they never checked anything.

@8

Do you have the page printed out at 149.99... Because as I mentioned before, the website says it's 179.99...

LilTmac2003, I would still go and ask. Saying it is 149.99 on Best Buy website and see what they say. Worst thing they can say is no.Just dont mention that it is 179.99 now.

I noticed on dealcatcher.com that it was selling at bb online for $150, so I ordered it for an in store pickup in the morning and picked it up a lunch.

Too bad best buy didn't have any 300 hd dvds in stock (sold out).

Called my local BestBuy this morning, they told me that it was $149.99 and they had 4 in stock. So I rushed over there, the tag in front of the unit again said $149.99 and they actually had 5 in stock. I get to the register and they tried to charge me $179.99. After calling the department, and confirming that it was supposed to be $179.99, the clerk gave it to me for $149.99. Woo! So, just check out your local BestBuy

They did the same thing to me. Tried to play dumb saying it was 179. I dragged their sorry asses to the display area with the 149 tag.
They all gave this look like I was stealing from their kids.

I picked up the last unit today at my BB, and the price tag was $149 and the register said $179. After being escorted to the price tag by an attractive cashier, I happily left the store with my package for $149.
