Best Buy Xbox bundle for $399 and HD DVD for $150

Although really not evidence of the Aug. 12 price drop, there are some interesting things going on with the Xbox 360's pricing and attachments at Best Buy. We've received two separate Best Buy scans of a "360 Top Spin Bun" that will go on sale on Aug. 12 for $399 (the same day as the expected price drop). Though we're not positive, a Top Spin 2 pack-in seems to be the obvious component here (take that Wii Tennis!).

Also curious is that Best Buy has brought down the price of the HD DVD attachment for the Xbox 360 to $150. It's currently sold out online, but most major retailers are still pricing the device in the $180 to $200 range. It's not marked as a sale so, unless there is a computer error, the price looks to stay. Retailers plan to get more details on Xbox 360 pricing next Wednesday.

You people supporting sony and bluray dont know sh**t. Thats why Hd dvds are slightly still outselling bds and that almost every movie on Hd dvd looks better. It cracks me up to read people saying blu ray is gonna win. 30 gigs is plenty of space to do what it has to do. 50 gigs might be 20 gigs more but what significance does that hold other than Blu ray being able to pack more special features onto one disc where Hd dvd would have to carry one extra disc. I could go on but when im always right its not worth it explaining it to a bunch of 5 graders who support sony.

You all realize that dual-format players are already on the market and in several months will most likely be dirt cheap. It's very likely that both formats will coexist. Remember the format war between DVD+R and DVD-R? All DVD drives utilize both now. Why can't HD movie players be any different?

Personally, I'm buying HD-DVDs cause they still work in my DVD player, and I'll buy a dual-format player when they get cheaper.
