Lair not done, delayed until September 4

How well can one delude oneself in the hate of an inanimated object.

Well, to make a few things clear
Oblivion, Bioshock, Graw 1&2, Prey (not Pray), Lost Planet, The Darkness, Call of Duty 2, Grand Theft Auto IV, are NOT EXCLUSIVES. Too Human is not yet out.

True - we have about 3 good exclusives out this xmas for 360 (Halo 3, ME and PGR4), but after TWO years of launch.
At each stage after launch (year 1, year 2) compare the exclusives on both
10 months post-launch for PS3, some 5-6 interesting (maybe not all good) ones for PS3, how many on 360 in say September 2006?
Similarly, as on date - 20 months after launch - how many really good 360 exclusives? Three? Four?
To compare, count the number of AAA exclusives on PS3 scheduled by September 2008 (KZ2, GT5, MGS4, FF13, White knight, SOCOM, Wipeout, LBPlanet, Ratchet and more would be added in Oct 07-Sept 08, compare vs 360 titles out in Oct 06-Sept 07)
We have people who find none of the PS3 exclusives good and every one of the 360 ones amazing - get a brain.
And we never know how Lair, Heavenlt etc might turn out - but at least PS3 has some unique games. And similarly, we dont know how the bulk of 360 titles would be - Halo 3 and Mass Efect should be excellent, but the rest - Fable 2, the next edition of Splinter cell after the awful last one, Too Human - could turn out junk as well.
Or maybe people just expect PS3 to have 10 times as many exclusives in half the time - which is natural, after all we are comparing isnt a zero defect rate, 1200+ backward compatibility, free multiplayer vs you know what

Oblivion, Graw, Call of Duty, The Darkness, GTA IV are all available on the PS3. Multiplatform titles don't really mean that much since sooner or later you can get them for your console of choice.

Games like Gears, Lost Planet, Bioshock, Overlord, and Mass Effect (most likely) are all available or going to be available on the PC. Halo 3 will be someday as well. These games are still superior and play superior on the PC. You can't count these games as XBOX exclusives because there is somewhere else, which in many views, is superior to play them on. The original XBOX was not a market leader becuase the FPS genre is not strong enough to carry a console system.

XBOX exclusives in other genres have their couterparts on other systems. A driving game is a driving game. Sure there may be differences but if you want to race licensed cars around tracks you will be able to do so.

The modern FPS genre is over 10 years old and really hasn't changed since Half-Life. The 360 still remains a hardcore gamer system flooded with non-innovative shooters.

At this point in time last year th eonly games anyone talked about on the 360 were Oblivion, GRAW, and PGR. At the sime time in the PS3 lifecycle it has Oblivion, GRAW, Motorstorm, R:FOM, Ninja Gaiden, and Rainbow 6 Vegas. The system has games worth playing and plenty to keep you busy unless you burn though 3 games a week. All the 360 fanboys were screaming, Oblivion is worth the $400 I paid alone. They said it for GRAW and then later for Gears. Now this year they'll say it for Halo 3 and Mass Effect. Still all of these games on a console make me say, meh. Yes there are millions who will sell out thier mother to get those games but not 100 million people.

The PS3 still has a wider selection of games and genres that will be available to a broad audience. Many of whom will have already bought a Wii. Thats one major problem and one that affects the 360 as well. The PS3 does have a lot of added value in the Blu-ray player at least.

Of course, to you, any PS3 news is bad.

I'd rather a delay than something wrong at launch. The way I see it, the delay gives me more time to pay off my pre-order.

How does that make you feel? I pre-ordered LAIR even though I've read dozens of your anti-PS3 posts you have made since its original "gone gold" announcement.

do you know the original launch dates for Lair and Heavenly Sword? and Motorstorm was supposed to be a launch game.

it's almost false advertising at this point, convincing people to get a PS3 early (like me) in hope of games you can't get on the cheaper 360. so far i have a grand total of two.

nope, the sony drought continues, while the PS3 keeps getting cheaper with more bonuses thrown in (and possibly a new rumble controller) as Sony keeps abusing their "brand loyalty" asking you and everybody to keep on waiting.

Name one another game for you Xbox, other then Gears thats exclusive to Xbox, thats good.

i hate lists so i'm not going to do one. but with the 360, it's not about exclusives.

with any game that comes out on both 360 and PS3, is an automatic 360 win.

because the 360 is significantly cheaper and multiplatform games come out considerably earlier (and normally better performing because of ease of development) with platform features that PS3 doesn't have (rumble, in game XBL) the pressure is on Sony to have exclusives, not Microsoft.

ok damn it here's a little one, both capcom games, graw1, crackdown, forza, pgr and others. gears is certainly not the only good exclusive for 360 no matter what anyone tries to tell you.

You have not been around the gaming circuit long enough have you? All previews for games are very positive because they are hoping that what ever issues that come up will be fixed, so they lessen the blows. When the review comes out, they rip the game to shreds.

the PS2 was $300 at launch, DVD was a bonus. PS3 is double the price and you have to pay dearly for blu-ray. so far, playing *games* on the ps3 is bonus.

it's sony that has to come with the exclusives not microsoft. the vast majority of 3rd party games on the cheaper 360 come earlier, play better and have features PS3 versions don't, like rumble and XBL.

microsoft exclusives are bonus at this point. i already mentioned these but you chose to skip both capcom games, graw1, pgr3 and crackdown.

2. because there was only one option for larger storage at the time, ps1 had to go cd, and ps2 had to go dvd. sony is "pushing" blu-ray cause there is a format war between them and hd-dvd for the next storage medium

Really stop playing yourself. DVD players had high prices when first launched or did you forget that? You take up for what ever you want and bash Blu-Ray all you want.. Just so you know, if your beloved HALO movie comes out on a disc it would be in HD exclusively on Blu-Ray.

Also, I chose to ignore the capcom games because they were garbaged. PGR3 and PGR4 looks the same. I mean, except the Bikes(nice upgrade). As for crackdown, nobody wouldnt have bought that game if is wasnt for the HALO 3 beta which was received as crap itself.

As for your cheaper comment, cheaper doesnt always mean better.. If being cheaper is acceptable, then dont get upset when the Wii has beaten the 360 in total sales in the next few weeks... Just because M$ made the 360 cheaper doesnt mean they fixed the failure problem either(OUCH)!

Say what you want.. I'm a gamer and delayes suck. I know what 1 wanted when i bought my PS3. Quality! It is on paper the most powerful system available and having games or not doesnt change that.

hey rfom, if the playstation was $400 and the extra $200 was payable across 4 years, i'm sure many more people would be happier with it.

ha, you managed 3 earlier releases on PS3, do you really want me to list all the earlier releases for 360? yes i know it came out earlier, thats the point. and yes, i've beaten DiRT already, on my 360. have *you* seen it?

if they put rumble back into my copy of Motorstorm and Resistance, then i'll take all those rumble knocks back.
