I motion that we just forget about what console manufacturers say about price cuts. They have always, and will always, deny that there are any "immediate plans for a price cut in that region". I mean, they sorta have to.

So they WONT price cut... But still wont give us a price for the Elite 360 which is out in 23 days time? I call bullshit.

I'm sorry how can they justify that when the 360 is already cheaper without a price cut in the US than the 360 in the UK.

That's hard to tell if it is. The pound in artificially high and dollar is really weak because a jug-eared fuck-wit spent all of America's money and then some. But you're probably right. Everything is a rip-off in is stinking country.

If Sony would have dropped the price in Europe then Microsoft would have to follow with a price cut. Since the PS3 has been out in Europe for a measly 4 months...naturally a pricecut is unthinkable.

The ONLY reason for the pricecut ( a meager one at that) in U.S. is because Sony cut it's price.

Microsofts' games division is bleeding money from every pore and can hardly stand the pricecut in the US much less anywhere else.

I wonder what this pricecut did for Microsofts' supposed "profit" forcast for 2008.

Even the nearly bottomless pit of money Mr Bill has there is a breaking point. When will the stock holders/board of directors say enough is enough.

I cannot even imagine being in buisiness for 7 years and to have not made a profit. Hell, they would be extatic for break even....instead they are 7 BILLION+ in the hole.

So, go ahead Mr. Bill, keep trying to beat Sony and please continue to bleed more MONEY!!!

I do want the Evil Empire to stay in the game....just to keep Sony on it's toes and giving them that extra incentive to continue with innovation and new fantastic IP's...not to mention better and more powerful hardware.

Nintendo....meaningless as they have decided to court the casual gamer their success is irrelevent to Sony or Microsoft.

Its seriously annoying how we in the UK are ignored by every single other country it seems, content for the XBLM or PSN Store? Well its out in the US but we cant be bother to check the box that lets other people download it, Price Cuts? Sure, Hell Yeah! (in america only). Don't worry I don't personally have anything wrong with the US but fuck we don't want to pay obscene amounts of money for less

Microsoft are kind enough not to IP block accounts to a certain region, so you can easily make a second Xbox Live account for America or Japan or whereever you like. However, the video marketplace IS IP blocked.
But I understand your greif, feel for the rest of Europe though, they get it even worse. Lack of considerate European departments of companies such as Nintendo or Sony and heck, even Microsoft much of the time have plauged our market for years, Nintendo has always been shit to us, Sony has just recently turned sour on us, and MS doesn't seem to be doing us many favours as of late.
The only company who I can think of who treats us like a proper video game market is SEGA. Which is a bloody shame because they have somehow managed to turn every franchise they own into a pile of rotting crap. Hrr...

I'm not sure about the PSN, but I think it's like the Wii and blocked to European regions only.

The 360 is selling very well in the UK, way better than the original did. One of the reason is that reather than offer a straight price cut they are letting the retailers make good margins on the product and therefore the retailers are selling the product for them with loads of ads and brilliant bundles. Shop around and you can get a Premium, Gears, and Forza 2 for £279.99, play are doing the same console with Flat out and Command and Conquer for £259.99.

If they cut the price they will lose the retailers margins and they will push the 360 less.

People in the UK/Europe that complain about high prices compared to the US should consider the following: Microsoft could very well be selling the 360 to retailers at the same price as the US (at least before the price cuts), but you have to factor in your extremely high "protectionist" tariffs on imports and your high VAT of 17.5% (where I live sales tax is 8.25%), and who knows what other taxes. All of this adds up to a TON of money going to your government and higher prices for everyone. Also, UK prices include sales taxes whereas US prices do not, and this makes the difference appear even larger. Basically, if you're tired of high prices, stop voting for socialist government, and start voting in more fiscally conservative politicians. If you disagree, fine, but meanwhile I will be enjoying much lower prices.

"We're very happy with the price we're at"

And I'm very happy not buying a 360 until they come down in price. Fuck you!

It's pretty messed up. UK 360 costs £280, that's $560. How's that fair? Are we not important in the videogame world? Seeing as we make GTA, Burnout, TimeSplitters, PGR, Fable, Crackdown, Haze and a thousand other best selling games and franchises, we shouldn't be treated like 3rd class citizens.

Toys R Us are already selling the Premium console with either COD3, PES6 or GOW for £199 anyways. They're pretty difficult to find right now though as they've sold out in most stores in the UK.

If you look around you can get the premium console for no more than £230 in most places (as with the PS3, that can be bought for the same price as the elite console at £329).

MS may want to keep their RRP, but most stores aren't sticking to it and are either selling it much cheaper or big bundle packs for the RRP of the console on its own.

Europe is getting railroaded by all the electronic manufacturers. I say this as an American who thinks it should stop...

wow, what a kick in the teeth for Europe. Microsoft has no clue about satisfying their clients (except for maybe providing great service for when (Not if) their console dies).

As stated before, the retailers are selling the 360 at some very nice prices. £220 for a premium with gow for example. Sure we may not get an official price cut but im pretty sure we can get a 360 even cheaper if we look.
