Have you wondered what it will be like on Sept. 25? Have you fantasized about pulling open your Legendary Edition of Halo 3, gently lifting the helmet with the slow, intense patience of the great lovers and revealing the tender gaming morsel inside? If so, you're creeping us out. But also, you can live your dreams vicariously through this video, shot at yesterday's Microsoft press conference in Amsterdam.
Of course, we hope that when we open the helmet for the first time we'll be speaking in English and there will be something inside besides a wad of paper. Also, and maybe this is just us, but doesn't it look bigger than in the pictures?

Wow, it's actually better than I thought it would be, feel a smidge better about buying it now, not that I ever really worried about it.

Funny, creepy, and unfortunately accurate all at the same time.

Meh, I'm fine with the 60$ version. I'm already going to pay 50$ for a Live account just for this game.

Oh dear god...something just came into my head, and it won't leave...
I bet, somewhere, that someone will try to have sex with the helmet...oh noes...

God I hear that all the time...sadly it is in reference to my waistline.

That's funny because my local Walmart has one in their video game display case. I was impressed with how nice it looks. It was also bigger then I thought it would be.

I saw one at my Wal-Mart last night too. Pretty looking, but I'm not a big Halo fan so nothing to drool over.

Wow. I'm thinking this might be the best video game special edition ever. Japan gets them all the time and this might even top all of those awesome FF and MGS special editions. Sweet. Hopefully MGS4 will try and top this in the US! :)

can I wear it?

I would much rather have had one of the DS Lites from the FF III release.
I guarantee there will be one of these on a blow up doll's head within a week of release.

Hey everyone,
I worked as a merchandiser, and right before I quit I was sent the legendary edition (without games of course). I can tell you a few things.
1) by undoing some screws, and cutting some plastic nubs off, you CAN PROBABLY wear it....its that big. Of course you wont be able to see anything out the face mask area, as it is just painted plastic!
2)Helmet comes with protective/pointless helmet bag.
3)You WILL regret buying this. In the end it's just a very expensive piece of plastic. COllector's only would be my suggestion. It's well put together, but I really have to question the point of buying a helmet you can't even see out of or have to do surgery to just get it on your head.
4)My grandparents didnt know what to think:|

I'm sure those are all very valid points, however this comes down to the same all important question that all costly things do. Do you value the big stupid helmet more than $130. For me the answer yes, I would rather have the helmet, I will still be able to eat, I wont miss a house payment, etc.
So really not only "collectors" but people who can afford it should get it if they will like it.
Kinda like people that buy really expensive bongs, or rims, or car stereos, or clothes, or $200 shoes, or whatever it is. None of those things interest me, but if you like it buy it.
I will enjoy looking at my stupid big ass unwearable helmet almost as much as the look on other peoples faces that see my stupid big ass unwearable helmet.
Wow, after this, rockband, GHIII (gotta have a wireless), Bioshock: SE, and adding in the racing wheel/seat, plus the ridiculous fall lineup this is all getting out of hand... har

It looks small because the dutch are so freakishly big.

Ah man, they couldn't have made that thing slightly larger so it could be worn? The paint and that visor look awesome, very nice finish indeed. I think it's time for an affordable ($350ish?) mass-produced set of Spartan armor. Best Halloween costume ever.

Well it's certainly much larger than the Spartan helmet that came with the Limited Edition 300 DVD... Then again it costs nearly $100 more.
I think it should either have been made to wear or made as a small desk peice- much like the 300 helm. Making it ALMOST life size is really annoying as many people will go to great extremes to force their noggin' into a helmet they can't even see out of. I can already see all the emergency room reports posted on this site...

Retailers (at least here in Canada) have got promo kits with the helmet already. They're individually marked, ours is in the 200,000s...I'd guess they're limiting it at either 500,000 or 1 million.
