We're probably not the only ones who have thought of Oblivion as an MMORPG without awful people. Now, Bethesda's parent company, ZeniMax Media, has opened an MMO-focused branch called ZeniMax Online Studios, which makes us wonder if we're not the only ones who thought The Elder Scrolls should make the move to massively multiplayer.
The studio will be headed up by Matt Firor, producer of Dark Age of Camelot, who is currently recruiting a crew of staffers. Of course, there's no guarantee that he'll work in the Elder Scrolls universe. But when you look at some of the properties under Bethesda and ZeniMax's roof (Fallout and Breeders Cup World Thoroughbred Championships spring to mind) it's hard not to be excited by the possibilities.

Wow amazing ! This is a dream come true. I hope they can retain the graphics of Oblivion and add MMO elements without too much lag. Oblivion is already one of my top 5 games so this is awesome news !

I'm assuming that LFG doesn't mean "lexical functional grammar" (I knew those CompSci classes would come in handy some day!), which is the first thing that came to mind when I saw it. So what does it mean?

LFG = Looking for Group
I personally use LFP for "looking for party".

Well I could certainly go for a new MMO, preferably one that makes me feel more involved in stories and combat, especially since WoW got incredibly boring a couple of months after picking it up. I still don't see what people get out of it...

If this goes MMO, I'd probably get it just for graphics.
But at the same time, I don't like paying monthly subscriptions: question of principle. I still believe online play should be free despite the age of that debate.

Oblivion with limited online elements would be great. I kind of like the direction Two Worlds is going but I have a hunch the game will suck balls.

Yeah I think it works better as a single player. At the most an online coop with one other person. P.S. Are YOU LOCAL???

Now all we need is a Pokeymanz MMO and we're set.

Acutally what I really want is an Oblivion Plant MMO. You select a plant and then wait in the landscape for someone to come and pick you.

MMOs are destroying gaming. Video games are escapism not a substitute for reality. Until they make an mmo that rewards short spurts of skill rather than longevity of game play count me out. I have a life to live.

I really hope it's NOT an Elder Scrolls MMO. There are too many fantasy MMO's to begin with, and i appreciate the fact that there is a developer out there committed to making phenomenal single player games. The Elder Scrolls universe brings nothing new to the realm of MMO's.

Oblivion could pretty much already BE an MMO if you added in grouping abilities (does anyone really EVER use 'Heal Other' spells?) and dynamically added quests.

It would ruin the Elder Scrolls for the series to be made into a MMORPG, I for one hope it never happens...
