Crysis launching November 16
Shh, do you hear that? It's the sound of your wallet, and it's crying over all the AAA titles due out this holiday season. Electronic Arts has added to the pain by announcing that Crysis is due out Friday, November 16 for PC only (for now, at least).
The release of Crysis will mark the first commercial launch of a game using CryENGINE2. How will it stack up against Epic's Unreal Engine 3 when Unreal Tournament 3 is also launched this holiday? Polygons will be measured against polygons; you better have a ruler handy.

I can't see why Crytek would develop a game that could only run on 2% of systems.
Vista's attach rate is low, I doubt they even have 4% of installed PC's. To add insult to injury, how many of that 4% are uber gaming rigs?
From a business standpoint, if this game only runs on Vista and can only be run by the best of gaming rigs, they just shot themselves in the foot.
I'll be in line though, my P4 3.6ghz/ 7600 is going to attempt to run this. I might have to jump to 2GB of RAM...or just scrap the whole system and build a new one.

since this is dual-core recomended, u think this is going to be one of the first games that takes advantage of multi-cores? If so, that 45nm quad core intel is looking really attractive right about now.
Crysis dynamically takes advantage of all your resources, including duel or quad core systems. It's not the first though, Half Life 2: Episode 2 and a few others will support multiple cores, and are being released before crysis.

Do I for one solitary minute believe that EA is holding it back until November 11th to fix bugs, instead of taking advantage of the holiday season? Nope.

I mean seriously, maybe 1 or 2 AAA titles are released on the PC yearly and to take full advantage of said titles, consumers are forced to spend upwards of $500 in gfx card and memory improvements on an annual basis.
console gaming FTW

And you don't need to spend 500$ a year to keep up unless you are amazingly uninformed.

If you've seen any screens or videos of the PC version of GoW you might want to reconsider how well UE3 sizes up against CE2.
