I didnt feel sick, but i definately felt like something was off. The FoV really was making me feel kinda.. wierd upstairs. like it got harder to concentrate. Turnning on headbob and turning off the HD graphics helped but the FoV still was bothering me.

And damn, i think is the first game where a texture upgrade has actualy made the game look... worse really. Everything seems way to sterile and repetitive. I cant really explain it but the way they redid the graphics seem to actualy have made me feel wierd to some degree while playing too.

My eyes hurt after playing it. But I think that was the weed ;o)

I shan't be playing it again though. Not because of motion sickness. I just thought it was shit.

I was going to buy the game. I started the demo, and within 10 minutes I felt sick. First time a game has ever made me sick. A part from a 5 hour session of Killzone, but that was just the length of time playing.

I think it is the fact the controls are terrible and the maps are so confusing you end up walking in a circle.

Trying to shoot an enemy is really hard, so you just end up running in a circle trying to shoot them and it makes you feel sick.

I was looking forward to this, but I don't think I can stomach it.

Come-on bungie, make a new version of marathon with your Halo 3 engine. That is what I want.

Yeah I played the trial and ended up having a headache, and I turned down the look sensitivity.

Perhaps some of you 'youngsters' are too use to modern FPSes with their expansive environments. Old school FPSes were mostly tight corridor crawlers where the background is constantly shifting with every movement.

Perhaps you need to recreate the game's original target gaming environment and play marathon on a 13 inch monitor.

I've gotten as far as the Phfor Garrison (who is now handing my cybernetic ass to me) playing maybe 5 hours total and I feel no ill effects. I think it must be certain TVs or something. I was even hung over the first night I played and nothing.

GOW would get me a little motion sickness when I go to run but never enough to quit playing until EPIC ruined it with all their stupid updates. I have yet to play this game, I guess I will down it and will report back after I spew or not.

I was only able to play for 5 minutes before I got sick and my wife was only able to play for about the same time also. And all we play is FPS! What a waste of $10!!!

I felt a similar way before I heard any news stories about it. It just makes your eyes feel a bit strange.

I don't know about Marathon (yet) but I HATED playing Gears of War (and returned it to the store) because it made me violently ill. I never get motion sickness with games, but Gears of War made me queasy and gave me a headache.

That's OK, though, because from what I did see, it was pretty boring. Run run run shoot run run run shoot. Nothing new. Ridiculous bosses. Lots of moments when the game took over and I was forced to watch the "story" progress.

Not my idea of fun.

I'm just glad I played the trial version instead of just buying it. I only played for two minutes before realizing that I was gonna be sick if I kept playing. I haven't felt that way from a game since playing Soldier of Fortune. Thank God that Halo, Halo 2, and the Halo 3 Beta never made me feel sick...that would be like having your thumbs torn off in a wheat thresher and never being able to play again (Halo 3 is the new Viagra)

I think the ancient graphics and silky smooth 60fps plays a big part in this. I don't get motion sickness with any FPS game but I can see how it can happen with Marathon. The sensation you get while turning is just too fast and I found it quite annoying.

Holy shit, I can't believe this game is making people queasy, I Bought the game the second it came out and and beat in 2 days Playing it staright on not stopping (with the exception of bathroom and, eating, im not insane), and I didn't feel one bit queasy, and wouldn't DOOM make people queasy, its bassically the same graphics, same 2-D characters, 3-D enviroments,
just Marathon Has improved visuals, and the action in DOOM is more fast paced, so if people get queasy over Marathon why not DOOM.

I tried to play again, got in 20 minutes this time before feeling ill. The characters just don't move right.

You walk too fast and seem to have no control over where you go, and the enemies float around like paper cut-outs, that is what seems to make me feel ill, coupled with a poor depth of vision, you can't tell where something is until you are standing on top of it.

I played Doom and Doom 2 on the xbox, I got the Doom3 collectors edition, and I didn't feel ill, so it isn't neccessary the age of the game, just the style they chose for Marathon.

I am really annoyed, I have been waiting for them to release Marathon, just glad I played the Demo before buying.

I downloaded the demo, and was playing along just fine, then *wham* -- I all of a sudden felt incredibly lightheaded / dizzy. I immediately jumped out of the game, and the feeling didn't go away until about 3 minutes later. Trust me, I've played *plenty* of FPS games, so it's not that. Something weird going on.

Proof Bungie cant make a good game apart from maybe Halo 2

Bungie didn't do the port, and as far as I can tell the original game was fine, otherwise it wouldn't be so popular.

What I don't understand is how the people making the game didn't notice the problem.

I played it for 15 minutes as well and I was sweating, felt sorta sick. I turned it off and deleted it. To be quite honest, that was the first time in all the years as a gamer that I felt that way. Besides the game sucked anyway. It's just on there because M$ and Bungie knew they were make money from all those Halo sucka's.
