I'm guessing the expansion will be the big news of this event. Blizzard doesn't like giving their fans multiple reasons to be excited...

yeah its not even funny anymore to listen to a grown man talk about a level 70 chief taurus. its just boring... and a little sad.

this phrase sums wow up pretty well:

"Now, you can't beat Arthis at level 70, so we're raising the level cap to 80."

so.. in order to succeed at this game, the only thing that really matters is that you endure dozens more hours of monotony, until we decide you are good enough to beat it.

Well if Diablo III does come out will it be better or worse than the Hellgate: London- D3 in the future with guns?

Well seeing as how D3 will probably not have a monthly fee like Hellgate London, that makes it better in my book :).

Has the guy tracking this ever played Warcraft (III or WoW)? Arthas, not Arthis, they were Scourge not Horde, the Shoulders were Hunter Tier 4, cmon!

At the end of the announcement they said "one more matter to attend to..."

They havn't fully announced everything yet, and before Blizzard announced they have 3 current projects. One is Starcraft 2, another is World of Warcraft and a third is unannounced.

The question is how long they'll keep it unannounced. They said they've been working on StarCraft 2 for like four years before telling us about it.

Now, I may be interpreting a bit on this but what about the meaning of the video of taking a Pally and turning it into a high end death knight. Is it possible that this is only a piece of the big picture and that all classes might have a sub-class at this extreme high end? Maybe you'll have the choice to joing the Scource from any class at level 70. Like Warlocks > Scourge Summoners, etc. Or did they actually say that the Death Knight will start at level 1?

Glad someone agrees. If they added new content 1-80, and the Death Knight wasn't just some stupid raid bitch toon, I MIGHT have tried it again until AoC or WAR came out.

Just adding numbers to the end of the experience pool isn't an expansion.

Glorified Grinding Game defined.

Fuck Naruto!

Whatever, I'm excited, I like plenty of other people actually find the game enjoyable. And being able to play as a Death Knight actually appeals to me.....sooo Yeah!

Also, I want more updates on the Starcraft II demo, god, I just love Blizzard..

Enjoy your shitty toon, intended for high-end content only. This isn't a class, it's not the Hero Classes they promised us at the beginning either. What a load of shit.

How is this not a hero class? Didn't they just say it was a hero class? Am I missing something?

Anam,

You must not have followed WoW from it's early development/release.

Hero Classes promised a long time ago to the fanbase, as an alternate path for your character to take and grow in to.

Not this bullshit where you raid/quest to unlock a Death Knight that will start between level 60-70 and is intended for high-end content only.

You don't get to turn your character into a Death Knight, you get to unlock a Death Knight character. It's complete bullshit, and why I call it a Raid Bitch class and not a Hero Class.

From 1up:

Pay close attention to the part where you unlock the chance to make it, and not turn your character into a hero class. Also where it says it's intended only for high end content.

"New Hero Class: Death Knight
World of WarCraft's first Hero Class is a plate-wearing tank/DPS hybrid that works a little something like this: When players hit level 80, they'll be able to embark on a quest (similar in difficulty to the Warlock's epic mount quest, back before the level cap was raised to 70) that unlocks the ability to create a Death Knight character. The Death Knight starts at a high level (somewhere around 60 or 70, though Blizzard isn't certain yet), so you won't have to grind your way back up all over again. It's intended as an alternative, advanced class for end-game use only.

Rather than using rage, energy, or mana, Death Knights have a special "rune sword" displayed beneath their health bar, onto which the player can etch six different runes (choose between Frost, Blood, and Unholy). Different abilities require different mixes of runes, and using abilities consumes the requisite runes until a cooldown timer causes them to be available again. Stuff like talents, spells, and other specifics are still being finalized. So are key questions like what races can be a Death Knight (start a Gnome petition now) and whether unlocking the Hero Class on one server means you can create a Death Knight on any server."

Very true.

In fact, I think I'll go so far as to say that StarCraft 2 is the only possible World of WarCraft killer.

IIRC, it'a Arth/a/s. And wtf is that you'll be interacting with Arthas as you step unto Northrend? This screams a new Scourge faction.

Wow more levels to grind for.

This is why 4 million people play Guild Wars, and growing.

Fuck WoW and its pointless leveling bullshit.

Bring Starcraft 2, and please shut down the servers to free 9 million humans from the Matrix, hehe.

also there is no way SC2 can kill WoW, since it requires a much more hardcore gaming background than WoW does in order to accomplish anything.
