It seems that dreams of the Call of Duty 4 multiplayer beta for those outside the 50 nifty United States may have been dashed just a bit to quickly. The Infinity Ward community relations manager, who goes by "fourzerotwo" on the game's official boards, did a little damage control yesterday, saying that the announcement of a U.S.-only beta was premature.
He wrote, "In order to get started, and kick off the beta we will begin in the United States, but are looking to go International and currently sorting out those details." (You can read his post here, if you're a member of the Call of Duty forums.) He also mentioned that more info about the beta, including what maps and weapons would be included, would be revealed later in the week. Hopefully our friends around the globe will learn a little more about their beta chances then.
[Thanks, Derek]
Call of Duty 4 beta may still extend beyond U.S.
