It seems that dreams of the Call of Duty 4 multiplayer beta for those outside the 50 nifty United States may have been dashed just a bit to quickly. The Infinity Ward community relations manager, who goes by "fourzerotwo" on the game's official boards, did a little damage control yesterday, saying that the announcement of a U.S.-only beta was premature.
He wrote, "In order to get started, and kick off the beta we will begin in the United States, but are looking to go International and currently sorting out those details." (You can read his post here, if you're a member of the Call of Duty forums.) He also mentioned that more info about the beta, including what maps and weapons would be included, would be revealed later in the week. Hopefully our friends around the globe will learn a little more about their beta chances then.
[Thanks, Derek]

... hhaha... you are a total jackass.

There is no shame in building your own gaming PC. I can upgrade my PC, you have to buy a whole new console.

You know, I should keep this bookmarked so I can own every misinformed console fanboy I come across on JoyStiq...

$531 + $110 copy of Vista = $641. Only $40 more than a PS3, is a Core 2 Duo, does DX10, and has twice the space as a PS3. And later, we can upgrade it instead of buying another mass of a console.
Try again!

neebs, does that include the wireless controllers, hdtv and the fun of having friends over to play together on the big screen, pc gamers must have no idea what playing with real friends even is i suppose (not online, in the same room as your) id rather buy a new console every 4-5 years then a $500 vid card every year

omg are there no more pc gamers?!?!
i guess having to manually aim for those headshots instead with a mouse is more difficult than auto-aim on a console =)

i guess playing on my 42 in LCD is and laying in my bed is more comfortable than sitting at my computer staring at a 17 in and getting carpal tunnel.

It's just a beta, don't be a cockbite. The game will come out for the PC. PC always gets the great betas, just time for the consoles to get a taste of what it's like to know exactly what you will be buying. We get royally boned more than PC users on poor games. Until the 360 console gamers hardly knew the word demo.

My pc can run circle around my PS3 or any other console for that matter. It works on 1080p tv's or your basic lcd computer screen. It can do a lot more than a console can. In fact all console games are made by PC's to begin with. With out PC's consoles wouldn't be as good as they are. PC's will always beat consoles in every aspect. Just so you know I have had and still have everything from the Commodore 64 to the ColecoVision to the PS3. The only system I do not have is an XBOX 360. Their quality $ucks. I might decide to buy one in the future for my nephew but I have no desire for it personally.
