well, being a sole Playstation 3 owner, the release of Bioshock, and Halo 3 have no effect on my purchasing choice regarding Heavenly Sword.
you know, joystiq, not everyone owns a 360, and not everyone is madly in love with Halo.
Bioshock, is looking fantastic, but i lost interest in the Halo series after part 1, and was never a big fan to begin with.
the PS3 lineup is more to my tastes, as i'm not too huge on FPS (though i enjoy a good one, i don't step over relatives to play them).
Lair, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank Future, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, are enough to keep me away from the 360 this year.
Bioshock, Mass Effect, and certainly not Halo, just aren't enough incentive to, what's the phrase, "Jump In,' this holiday season.

How could you lose interest in the series before it was even a series? It was just "Halo," not "Halo, Part One." In any event, from an objective standpoint, the PS3 won't be getting good AAA games, it seems, until 2008. Be patient!

Who cares d-pad? Quite a few that care quit coming to this place. Back track and see how often a PS3 story get's bookended by a 360 remark. Then look at the reverse. I don't recall remarks about GTA IV having to walk smack into Killzone and MGS4. I don't recall remarks about GTA IV DLC actually being small fries to an entire two exclusives on the PS3.
People see remarks about the GTA IV and decide that Michael Pachter must be correct when the most damning possible reason for a delay came from the dev team themselves. But being a remark that doesn't cast the 360 in a good light it isn't something that rates a headline.
There is a reason why www.n4g.com is working out to be a better site for news. More updates and no bias.

All the previews are saying that Metroid is a Halo Clone... the best version of BioShock is on PC. and, everyone who wants to play Halo3 has already bought a 360 and most likely gone through 3+ units with RRoD.

1up (and others) compared MP3 to Halo 1 ... im not talking about the series.
MP3 is much, much more linear than any other console Metroid.. much like the handheld Metroids. Its story driven with a lot more characters.. meaning, its gonna feel like a linear FPS and not like the exploratory/adventure type Metroid game MP3 should be.

Not to meaning to be an ass, but it looks to me like all of those games could have been pulled off on the original Xbox. I mean, they look like lightly polished last-gen games.
Sony's AAA titles like MGS4 and FFXIII won't be coming out untill next year. These games seem like they would get average reviews at best.

I can't help but wonder where your stance on this was during the 360 launch when, unlike now, that statement was actually accurate.
I will be the first to admit that the generational leap this time is nowhere near as big as it has been between PSX and PS2. But to state several of those games look possible on Xbox just proves you're just being an ass. I suggest, in the future, before making statements like that, you at least whip out the Xbox, play it for about an hour, and then you'll have a much better scale to look like you know what you're talking about.
Until then, just keep the "it looks like Xbox" thoughts deep within that decaying mind where they belong.

I wonder how this will fare with reviewers. it seems that recent ps3 titles have been getting savaged in the reviews. Lair can barely manage a 7, Folk Lore gets like a 5, and frankly things don't look too good for warhawk. If something is distilled awesome, no one mentions price.

I played the demo and was not impressed. The game's framerate was low and it just wasn't fun button mashing. The character's did not seem likable either.
The only PS3 game I'm looking forward to this year is Eye of Judgment. I used to want Lair, but it got bad reviews, so that's out.

You're avoiding LAIR because it got bad reviews from game journalists? They weren't exactly bad, more mediocre. Plus it's been delayed for more tuning.
Not buying because of a couple reviews is bullshit, well maybe not, but at least try renting it or somehow playing it first.

hey i hear you Joshua. i usually read a couple reviews from different sites (IGN, Gamespot, and whatever else i can find) when a game i'm interest in is coming out. those reviews then help me decide if i want to blow the money on it or rent it first. id rather pay $8 to find out i don't like a game than $60.
