New Starcraft II screens make us go, 'What's that?'

Hey, BlizzCon isn't just about the wrath of a Lich King and the World of Warcraft -- let's get some StarCraft pron in here too. Blizzard has released new Starcraft II screens and there's plenty of stuff we're wondering and asking, "What's that?"

Hopefully some of our people at BlizzCon can get more details. Check out the new screens in the gallery below. We're definitely digging the new Terran Viking ... Starcraft meets Robotech.

I'd like to see regular artists churn out the beauty, detail, and majesty of Blizzard concept artists.

As long as Blizzard continues to not only make these masterpieces but continue to make them available for the Mac as well, no other company will be as successful as Blizzard.

When I look back at everything blizzard has done with their games as compared to the competition, they always seem to have their products available for the Mac as well. Most other competitors fell to the wayside (EQ tried but too late and not enough).

So... Beautiful Art + Mac Compat = Blizzard Success.

I loved the versatility of Goliaths but I admit the Wraith/Valkyrie air force wasn't the best. Still, the description of the Viking implies it is the successor to all three models. I'm not saying it's true and I'm not saying it's a bad thing (as they have yet to reveal other aerial units), but it does pose some serious balance issues.

Luckily, it's Blizzard and it's Starcraft. They'll work it out. ^_^

It's looking great.

has anyone noticed the 2004/2005 years on those concept pieces. still amazed they've been able to keep this stuff quiet for so long. they weren't lying about starting dev after wow came out. 2005 technical drawing followed a year later by a colour rendering. nice.

also notice additional names making their way onto the artwork.
