Well, since most 7-11's are 24 HR, you will be able to get Halo 3 at Midnight.

I reserved at my local 7-Eleven a yesterday, and he didn't charge me anything. The manager made me give him my phone number, and I'm afraid of when he calls because I can barely understand him.

You are soooo wrong. The slurpee capital of the world is in Canada, Winnipeg for those who aren't in the know. There are more slupees sold per capita there then anywhere else in the world. Calgary has apparently come in close second a few times. Theres like a 7-11 everywhere in Winnipeg.

Here in Michigan, not only are they selling but they also have some very nice signs that look like they were corporately designed. They have the HALO 3 logo on it and also the 7-11 logo on the bottom. very cool.

Yeah I actually saw an identical sign, totally DIY, up in a 7 Eleven in the Chicago burbs last weekend.. It's especially funny because of the unusual cheapness of the sign, but yes it is happening in more than one place.

I saw this at my 7-11 in Naperville, IL a of couple weeks ago. I mentioned to the guy who works there it was odd they would be selling Halo 3. He said within hours of putting the sign up they already had 2 pre-orders. He also said, yes, it is a nationwide thing and not just something odd that particular store is doing.

This is actually nothing new as far as 7-11 is concerned, I remember my friends back in college just walked into one and grabbed halo 2 on its release day, when everyone else was fighting tooth-and-nail only to be turned down by their local game store or best buy.

One giant slushie and one copy of Halo 3. Thank You come again! Dang Halo has hit the bigtime. Now if we could only get our systems serviced at the local auto repair shop under the Microsoft Warranty. LOLZ. I love my 360 regardless.

Actually, with a lot of retailers you can get a good deal if you pre-order it. You can buy a $20 marketplace points card for only $5 if you pre-order Halo 3 at Best Buy.

Some places will not sell you a copy unless you have a preorder.

Found that out with RE4wii. toiok me a week to get it. with big games alot of places like to fake shortages and essentially force peopel to put money down early.

What's interesting about 7-11 is that it is a Japanese company. The Japanese division of the original 7-11 American company outgrew the American division and purchased it. Also, the Japanese division has been profiled as an exemplar of Japanese innovation, spearheading such ideas as including dry-cleaning, ticket sales, etc. in the various 7-11 mini-markets in Japan (7-11s aren't gas stations in Japan). I bet such tendencies at branching into other markets for people's convenience is becoming part of the American 7-11s.

The only place Halo 3 will sell out will be gamestops. They only order enough to cover pre-orders and a few extra copies.

Have some sense and pick it up at a bestbuy, circuit city, walmart, or target.

Same here in Pittsburgh! And it's just a couple of blocks away from the GameSlop where my roommates and I waited for three straight hours in 20 degree weather during the Halo 2 midnight launch, only to be turned down at the door because the security guard didn't like my "GTA made me do it" T-shirt. Another two hours and a helluva lot of arguing later, we finally got our copy.

Maybe 7-11 will be different. And in their defense, 7-11's Hot-dogs are a procrastinating college student's best friend during all-nighters. That and pron.

I manage a Sevs in Virginia and we've had the POP for about a week. We've been told that there's a $20 deposit for reservations and a retail price hasn't been announced yet. I say this because our stores always sell at a higher price. I've still got Halo for the Xbox in my store for a 'reasonable' $34.99. I don't see this going to well...

I'm assuming that this is a 7-11 franchise thing. I worked at a corporate 7-11 for a while, and we didn't have much, if any, choice on carrying different stuff like this. Franchises, however, can carry just about whatever they want to. I could be wrong, but if you see these preorders somewhere, just look at windows to see if they have the franchise sticker somewhere.
