Do you not have a PS3? i can't remember. If you do, grab the demo off the Japanese PSN store. I've probably played it 20-30 times. I've always loved the HSG series and it's on my "must buy" list for this fall.

Looks like the Elder Scrolls did a respectable trade, but didn't overthrow the sales order like the publisher expected

Certainly proves that a Western RPG can penetrate the market if its good enough

The game series is fun, but come on! It's the same game over and over again but with newer graphics. I should know, I own almost all of them. For those new to the series however, I would highly recommend it.

Agreed, Sheppy. With online play, it make me all the more anxious to get it.

Does anyone know that if I import it, it will have English language on it?

The online play is expected via a patch mid august. DIDN'T YOU READ THAT?

In Sony's own words, the network code wasn't up to snuff and since they've proven in the past that they can add online play to games via a patch already, this is their plan with HSG5.

Yeah, I know. NA talks a big game and act like they've got it all. But the majority of people here in the US cant afford a decent living or buy a $600 console. LOL

The one good thing that's coming out of people not running to the store to pick up a PS3. The next system sony makes they'll definitely think twice about the pricing.

Ummm, aside from Korea, Japan was the last region to break a million sales on PS3. So NA already loves PS3 more than Japan.... Europe is all about it.

Which is a shame, since I think under all that bad marketing, there is a decent system that, thanks to Sony, will never have a chance to TRULY shine. The developer backing just isn't there.

I honestly hope Sony cuts the crap, and decides to sell a game system, and not an overpriced media player wannabe, that also happens to be the cheapest BluRay player on the market, with only a couple decent exclusive games. I mean, they lost Katamari for god's sake!

i've been playing the import non stop for 4 days now, the game is awesome. and no, it's not the same ol hot shots, different control schemes, beautiful graphics and a unique and truly fun online experience. anyone wondering if an import is worth it, i say go for it. glad to see it's doing well.

There was an internet discussion about the Mario Party Eight and Everybody's Golf 5 Japan opening numbers in comparison to the numbers of past openings of the franchises.

Mario Party Eight is the best selling opening of the series ever and could outdo every single one of the past ones.

Everybody's Golf 5 is the worst selling one in the series which doesn't bode well. The PS3 rise is like the one we saw with the Gundam PS3 game. It will drop down in the following weeks while the wii sales numbers will either increase as supply allows or remain steady.

lets face it.. mario party sells like crack no matter what region it is.. its just one of the best party games out there for the casual players so of course its gonna outsell hot shot golf becuase they are more casual gamers than hardcore..

Never will understand people who play sports games. They've always been pretty boring in my opinion. Only goods one that come to mind are NFL Blitz for N64 and Wii Sports.

NBA Jam, NFL Blitz, and Wii Sports though? Awesome. Some of my most heated rivalries in those games.

uh, yes. i do have it, and yes there is online. try getting your facts straight. there's a huge lobby system where everyone has an avatar and there are various tee times per hour. everyone (up to 50) sign up for a tee time, when the time comes, you play...all 50 people. instead of taking turns, you have a 120-180 second time limit on each hole. you play the hole, then it puts you back into a scorecard page where people can see who's leading and talk smack etc. after a few seconds, you move on to the next hole. the VERSUS mode is out in August. ....signed...Sony Fanboy. anything else?

sorry, that last comment was for Snukadaman, not for the first replier. i seriously can't stand people like that. you sit here all day and talk shit when you don't know anything about what you're talking about. i own all 3 consoles and can appreciate the differences between them, if you seriously sit around and harbor anger towards sony or microsoft or nintendo, you're a fucking idiot. nobody can comment anything positive on here about a game without some clueless dick chiming in.

what's funny, is that when it used to be "PS3 is only selling 9,000 a week!" there would be 100 post, 4 page threads.

now that the sales are increasing, we barely get 50 posts, let alone 4 pages worth.

funny how that works.

anyway, good job in breaking 1 million in Japan, PS3. took long enough.

sad that Oblivion didn't make as big of a splash as it could have, though it did get picked up. i think, due to the install base, the game will sell more on the PS3.

imagine if Nintendo had bothered to make the Wii a bit more powerful (it can't run Oblivion according to the developers, apparently), i bet the game would have sold excellent numbers on the Wii.
