I said I would purchase the retail version because I don't own a headset unit. I would have otherwise gladly downloaded it directly from the PlayStation Store.

F*ck you 1UP.

Where's option 3: Gonna pass on it.

I was in the beta and while its a darned fine MP game, it's still a MP game. I generally play games to get away from annoying people, not bind myself to them.

Too expensive for a multiplayer only game. I'll pass on it like I pass on Battlefield and Shadowrun.

Im glad they decided to offer a cheaper downloadable version of the game because if they only had the retail version of the game i would not get it at all. Simply because its only multiplayer,no campaign. Sure you get extra content and a bluetooth head set. But I already have a good headset and im not that impressed by the game, I played the beta, it was fun as hell but after a while it started to get old fast, and I don't feel like paying that much for half of a game.

I already have a headset. So, I'm not overly interested in the retail version. I'm also not interested in the DL version. I don't care to pay $40 for something I can't sell later. I maybe would have paid $30 for it.

So, I'll just wait until I can find a retail version used.

I was going for the download, but I seem to have lost my headset, so retail for me. This title looks awesome. I would pay $50 for the download and $70 for retail. Screw EGM

The videos and such from the retail version will be up on YouTube within a few hours of release.

Im still getting the retail version because i can sell it when i get bored of it... i will sell the BT headset as well since it is probably a piece of crap like most packed in headsets.

If I get it I'll go with the retail. I need a new headset, and I like the idea of having a physical copy of the game. The idea of paying that much for a game and not getting a physical copy just dosent set right with me. Plus if I want to play it at a friends house it will be eaiser to bring the game case than my whole ps3.

If you ask me, buying full games by download takes too much power away from the consumer.

If I buy a game and it sucks hard, then some retailers will swap it for me. That is taken away from you when you download. No refunds.

When you finally get bored of a good game, you can't trade it against a newer game, or sell it on ebay.

Also, if you like to COLLECT games, then you are screwed. The days of hoarding classics are over. You will probably be forced to rebuy the games every couple of generations.

I'm getting the retail version. I like the PS3 game cases and it will look great with my other games on my shelf. I couldn't care less about the behind the scenes stuff because it usually just gets boring after 30 seconds. The headset is the reason I'm getting this, if the download version was $30 I might just get that, but $40 is just to much.

I'd probably download at $30, but I'm willing to throw down the extra $20 it will now take for the retail version. Physical products rock.
As for the headset, ebay is going to have more than a couple of this exact model come the release I bet...

i'll be getting the retail version. my logitech ps2 headset has been misplaced and a bundled bt headset makes this one a great value.

to put this in prespective, xbox 360 owners pay almost as much for a proprietary x360 headset. a bluetooth headset can be used on your ps3, bt enabled phone or even with your pc. alot more versatile and we get a very promising mp only game included. i'm a huge fan of the tribes series as well as battlefield games, so i'm sure i'll rack up many hours playing this one.

Retail. I don't own a headset and until I can afford a Jawbone this would be nice for Resistance and Voice Chatting. Furthermore, I'd like having it on a physical medium more than just the download: The saved space can be allotted to demos or movies/music. It's that simple.

im buying the retail. its not that i like it or dont like it (never played warhawk before, so maybe i do like it :P) but its because of the headset, ive wanted to buy a blutooth headset for the ps3 but in a few headset ive read reviews that it inferes with the controllers, so i thought im not buying it, so now it comes with a PS3 game im more sure that it works proper :P

anyways.. anyone know if you have downloaded a full game and you payed for it, is it the download of that game free after that?

How is this "half a game"? Why is a game with no multiplayer considered "full" and a game with no single player "half a game"? That just baffles me.

I'm with most when I say that downloading a game has too many variables, and you may have a high chance of needing to re-download or even have to buy it again. With the retail box, it's yours to do whatever you want, for as long as you want.

30 bones is way to much for warhawk I was in the beta and can't see what all the hype is about. If I wanted to play a battlefield game I would buy battlefield. If I didn't already have aheadset I would most likely buy the retail version. Like so many others If all the people I usually play multi game with get it then I will gamefly it.

Because everyone can play a single player game. Not everyone can play a multiplayer game, unless they're exceptionally schizophrenic and have 4 hands.

This is a retail buy for me definitely. I love to have a nice box sitting next to my other games.

And to those of you who are asking about "If I download it and somehow lose it, can I download it again for free?" The answer is yes, you can re-download it for free if anything odd happens and you lose the game, or if you format your HDD or put in a new one of your own.

You can re-download any games that you've purchased on the PSN for free.

Beta has been closed for months now. That's why they're going gold with it (albeit with a small delay).

I too think $40 is too high for a downloadable. I'd pay $30 tops for a downloadable title especially considering the PS Store's wacky speeds.

I'll get the retail, an el cheapo headset comes with it that's barely adequate, but I get the physical media of the game, a book, etc. for only $20 over the download version.

well before most of the games were only 1 player (think about most PS1, around half PS2, some Xbox 1, around half Gamecube games)!!

$40 is a bit much for a downloadable title. Have they said anything about how the headset is charged? As long as the headset is charged via USB, they have a guaranteed buy for me. The retail version of this game is going to help PSN cause I rarely hear anyone using voice/text chat in any of the multiplayer games I've tried (Resistance, Calling All Cars). I'm hoping the teamwork aspects improve now that a large majority of the players will own headsets.

First, it's online, so two hands will suffice. Second, those without online access won't buy it in the first place.

So it is still a full game in the same way an MMO is a full game.
