If the singing is good in boogie, I might get it, just for the sake of having a karaoke game for the Wii. The rest of it looks kinda strange, but decent I suppose. (Karaoke is embarrassingly good time for parties)

Wave race was cool, I loved it on Gamecube, just to screw around and zip along and 64 is good as well.

Sony is publishing an AAA online multiplayer Warhawk with a high-quality Jabra BT125 Bluetooth headset, all for $60.

in contrast, EA is releasing a last-gen looking/performing local multiplayer Boogie with a USB microphone, all for $60.

just goes on to show Nintendo/EA are great at milking out Wii owners.

lol. congratulations to vidGuy, samfish and Anam: you three are officially a part of the 'Wii Are In Denial' club.

@Captain Jody Anthony XVIII,
it doesnt take much effort, really.

@vidGuy
if you're trying to infer that the motion-based controls justify the $60 price, you arent very intelligent. there is nothing collectively superior about the Wii Remote compared to the Sixaxis and the 360 controller: all three controllers have their strong and weak points as well as unique properties.

@samfish
in denial much? you must be president of the club.

@Anam
first of all Warhawk is not a flight simulator: its a flight combat game. a flight simulator would be Ace Combat 6 on 360. second of all, the fact that Warhawk and Boogie are different genres has nothing to do with my original arguement: all Wii games are last-gen looking and performing (as in A.I., physics, online gameplay etc.), not just Boogie.

I see you like to converse. No, I don't think motion-controls justify $60 (for any game), but I do think they can add to the enjoyment of the game. I've seen that with Wii Sports and I've experienced that with Tiger Woods and Madden. You said Boogie was "last gen performing"... obviously it has a completely new control scheme, so I'm not sure how it 'performs' the same as last-gen games like DDR.

I'll agree that all of the controllers have their strengths and weaknesses, but I find it hard for anyone to believe that the Sixaxis's motion control is equal to the Wii Remote's. The remote is by far much more accurate and versatile.

And as I said, unless Warhawk has been completely reworked it will be the definition of shovelware. AAA my ass.

shouldn't you be comparing EA games of similar genres and intents on both systems in order to make this point? Your comparison is stretched way too thinly here, Curmeo, its practically apples to oranges.

Also: when did Warhawk become AAA? I must have missed that memo somewhere...

@Curmeo

You are technically correct, which is the best kind of correct.

But still, flight simulator or flight combat game, you're still comparing a game that was intended to have ultra-realistic graphics to a rhythm game. You're trying to say Boogie is a bad deal because of its graphics... which don't really matter for a rhythm game.

If you want to compare PS3 graphics against Zelda, then your argument would make sense.

"No, I don't think motion-controls justify $60 (for any game), but I do think they can add to the enjoyment of the game. I've seen that with Wii Sports and I've experienced that with Tiger Woods and Madden."

i've had no problem admitting that.

"You said Boogie was "last gen performing"... obviously it has a completely new control scheme, so I'm not sure how it 'performs' the same as last-gen games like DDR."

Boogie has last-gen graphics, sound, and performance (A.I., physics, online gameplay capabilities etc.) as do all Wii games. keeping the above in mind, EA/Nintendo supporting a $60 pricetag solely/mainly based on a motion control scheme is what i have a problem with.

"I'll agree that all of the controllers have their strengths and weaknesses, but I find it hard for anyone to believe that the Sixaxis's motion control is equal to the Wii Remote's. The remote is by far much more accurate and versatile."

i've had no problem admitting that either. in my first reply, i said the Wii Remote isnt *collectively* superior to the Sixaxis and 360 controller. my arguement doesnt contradict what you said above.

your YouTube video link was added on May 16, 2006, from the E3 2006 press conference where the developers were given just a few days to add Sixaxis motion controls to the game. today its August 6th 2007 so i suggest you check out this link, dated March 30th 2007: http://www.gameinformer.com/News/Story/200704/N07.0430.1631.48164.htm?Page=1 ("The motion steering is very intuitive and natural.") google any updated hands-on impressions (GameSpot, IGN etc.) and you'll see praise for the motion controls and the fun factor. all signs point to Warhawk being AAA material.

Curmeo, the reason that Boogie is $60 is because it comes packaged with a microphone. Normal Wii games are only $50.

No one is denying that the PS3 has better graphics, AI, physics and sound, that's why it costs twice as much as a Wii. The point is that games like Boogie are a perfect example of the type of game that simply don't need the PS3s capabilities.

If someone tried to make a realistic racing game on a Wii, I would be right there with you saying that it would be flat-out better on a PS3. But you need to realize that there are plenty of games that the Wii is "good enough" to play.

Finally, many of us prefer artistic graphics to realistic graphics. In my opinion, Wind Waker looks better than anything on the PS3, and while obviously not all games will live up to that example, you can understand how a game doesn't need PS3 level graphics to look good artistically.

...

Of course, I don't know why I'm bothering trying to argue with you, since you're by far the most single-minded person in these comments. But here's to hoping that you'll finally realize that Wii owners weren't tricked.

As far as I know, they are the same basic game with minor differences. Differences much more minor than that of the different Pokemon versions. I have no idea why Capcom releases so many versions, it really seems pointless.

"i've had no problem admitting that"

Ok, we're getting somewhere.

"Boogie has last-gen graphics, sound, and performance (A.I., physics, online gameplay capabilities etc.)"

WTH? How much AI and how great a physics engine does a rhythm game need?

"EA/Nintendo supporting a $60 pricetag solely/mainly based on a motion control scheme is what i have a problem with"

The game is $60 because it includes a microphone. RE4, while a port, features the best motion control so far and is $30. If Boogie came with a mic but no motion controls guess how much it would cost? $60!

Finally, I linked that video because 1) I said Warhawk needed to be reworked since last year - your link makes it appear to be so, but I find the use of "intuitive" controls suspect; they were intutive last year but it didn't stop it from being ridiculous - and 2) that's what most gamers remember about Warhawk.
