Halo 3 Xbox 360 available in September for $399

Hot on the heels of this morning's Xbox 360 price cut announcement, Microsoft revealed that the limited edition Halo 3 Xbox 360 will be available this September in time for the release of Halo 3 and retail for $399.

If you don't recall, the Halo 3 Xbox 360 will feature a Spartan green and gold design, a play and charge pack, and will include all the Premium 360 offerings (wireless controller, 20GB HDD, etc.), but will also feature a HDMI input (but no HDMI cable). So, for those of you who are all about comparing consoles, plopping down an extra $50 on top of the newly priced $349 Premium will get you the lovely paint job, play and charge pack and a HDMI input. Is the Halo 3 Xbox 360 worth an extra Ulysses S. Grant? Well fanboys, we'll leave that decision up to you.

No its not worth it. I love halo and all but this just looks ugly to me for some reason. Almost looks like a skin cover for your 360 that I can just find online.

Not really worth it...cuz for an extra $50 you get the same thing in black with an hdmi cable and a huuuge harddrive. done and done. i'm lookin into getting an elite when canadian pricing becomes available...i've heard we're getting a nice $100 price drop on the premium. (inside source at futureshop)

Umm...is it an HDMI Input or an HDMI Output? Big difference and huge news if its actually an input...

So I was looking at this news this morning and I just couldn't think of who on Earth would want this thing. Moments later my roommate who I also work with comes down to my desk and tells me he really likes that Halo 3 Xbox 360.

Different strokes I guess. I'm just happy for this and the price cut. Now my rommate will finally get his own unit and my girlfriend can get one as well.

Grow Xbox Nation...GROW! And come September, meet me on the grounds of Halo 3 and kill me to your hearts content!

they should release a Premium white with HDMI instead. Amazing that black is so damn expensive today.

I think it looks sexy. But I can't understand why they put in a 20GB drive and HDMI, rather than a 120GB drive and HDMI or whatever. I know the price would be a bit more, but it just seems kind of odd. I guess the "Halo Nation" likes their HDMI, but doesn't download much from the Marketplace? Doesn't make sense.

I would prefer a little more Halo on the case. Right now, it's a little too simple. Not really worth for me, but then again, i am not a hardcore fan of the series. I like them though.

I'm sold when they get the new 65 nanometer chips in these bad boys.

I'm sure if it's worth it, if

(a)you don't have a 360
(b)you're only getting it (initially) for Halo
(c) You have an HDTV with HDMI input

Otherwise, I'll stay with the premium (that I've had replaced twice) and my Halo faceplate!

Definitely not worth it, no HDMI cable? 80gb's less than the Elite? Your best bet would be the Elite, comes with HDMI cable and 100gb hdd

if this model fixes all the problems then ill buy it. Even the elite RRoDs.

If MS said its doesnt only have a cover its a completely new model i would buy it but they said the elite wouldnt suffer from the same problem so idk. anybody work for MS can confirm the difference other than the case. im not joking i wan to know.

The design has grown on me, but even as a Halo fan i don't think I would get this. A price cut eliet is a much better deal for my particular tastes. Of course this is all moot since i have a pro with the big HDD so complaining about deals is very much my throwing stones in my very overpriced glass house.

i have an elite and a premium,ill get this and slap on my 120 gb hd from my elite and game on this and use my elite for the bedroom,and travel.

While it is kind of cool, I agree it's a little underwhelming. Considering I already have an Elite, definitely not worth it.
