Meet Keiji Inafune, Mega Man creator, in NYC today

The signing will happen at the GameStop across the street from the Manhattan Mall. Joystiq will be sending one photo journalist to the event, camera (and chainsaw) in hand.

Cool! I'll be stopping by, Megaman Legends in hand!
Konny @ Aug 7th 2007 11:22AM
The best Megaman EVAR is MM2.. i still play that on a regular basis.
Now, there are too many characters and convoluted storylines... much like Sonic. The only good part is that they are smart in keep it 2d sidescrolling.
Joop @ Aug 7th 2007 12:07PM
I take it you haven't played any of the new Mega Man games.
They changed it from a 2d robot killing adventure into some pokemon level card battle nonsense, quite a while ago. I'd go to the event just to smack Keiji just for allowing one of the most badass characters in early gaming history to be so tarnished.
James @ Aug 7th 2007 11:27AM
Am I the only person to not like Megaman any more? It was a fantastic series on the NES but I really can't get into these newer games. Seems like they're trying too hard to stay modern, adding RPG elements and all that. I agree with Konny, it's becoming Sonic.
NukeAssault @ Aug 7th 2007 11:35AM
If only i wa aware of this earlier... Id so go. I mean its only a train trip to Penn station... But im not that spontaneous. XD
Erik Novak @ Aug 8th 2007 1:39AM
Someone be sure to ask him about zombie racism!
John @ Aug 7th 2007 11:39AM
uh...did i miss something...what's mega man starforce?
CJC @ Aug 7th 2007 11:42AM
Same thing as the Battle Network games, but in mediocre 3D. Not for me, but perhaps a fun one for others.
Mike @ Aug 7th 2007 11:43AM
How did you guys change your avatar?
Night Elve @ Aug 7th 2007 11:49AM

I would like a Megaman game that allows us to understand what actually happened between the Megaman and X storylines, without having to dig through the internet about the subtle references included in a game most of us have never played or heard of (Meganman Powerfighters). And if you're going to make a story for the series at least allow it to make sense.
Zertoss @ Aug 7th 2007 12:12PM
Yes! This is exactly what I want. The whole transition from the X series to the Zero series to the new ZX series was explained (though there were plenty of plot holes). There should be something like Mega Man X Origins and/or a Mega Man 10 that wraps everything up for the original Blue Bomber.
Oh, Power Battles and Power Fighters are on the Mega Man Collection and on Gametap's subscription service. They'll probably roll around to the free portion eventually (if they haven't already, I haven't paid much attention to the free portion).
valdemiro @ Aug 7th 2007 11:51AM
Man I had to move from NYC to Atlanta.... Hopefully I'll get a chance to meet the Redneck Rampage creators.

Man I had to move from NYC to Atlanta... Well I hope I can meet the creators of Redneck Rampage one day.
Word of the street. @ Aug 7th 2007 12:19PM
Hey Capcom,Megaman powered up 2! Now and Dead Rising 2 if you got the time.
Mike @ Aug 7th 2007 12:35PM
Avatar changed! Thanks for the help.
hvnlysoldr @ Aug 7th 2007 12:54PM
Hooray! It's the Defendor of the Universe!
32_Footsteps @ Aug 7th 2007 12:55PM
I wish I could go... I'd love to force an apology for Mega Man 8. Between Aqua Man, Clown Man, and the infamous "Jump, Jump, Slide, Slide," that game made me glad they stopped making old-school Mega Man games. And that's a crying shame, because I loved those back in the day (call me heretic, but MM3 was my favorite).
Ah well... Inafune has a hard time knowing when to change course with the franchise and sticks with it way too long after it goes downhill (Mega Man 5, Mega Man X3, Mega Man Battle Network 4...).
heyo007 @ Aug 7th 2007 1:47PM
MM3 was F*cking awesome. I still find myself humming all the music from that game.
Mark @ Aug 7th 2007 1:00PM
Please someone make him do Dead Rising 2.
Zach L @ Aug 7th 2007 2:07PM
Someone needs to get on their knees and beg him to beg Capcom to give him the funding for Megaman Legends 3. It's a shame that it'll probably never get made.
Ando @ Aug 7th 2007 2:13PM
...Why don't I live in New York?
WHY?!
Also, I agree with the Legends 3 sentiment. I haven't played the second one yet, but a third needs to be done.
Legends 3 + Wii = OMG YES
Kurenai @ Aug 8th 2007 9:22PM
I was there just now. There are like 8 people lined up to meet him.
MrTroy @ Aug 7th 2007 3:58PM
Please tell him to visit Philadelphia. :(
Jeff @ Aug 7th 2007 4:25PM
Poor Mega Man.
Jeff @ Aug 8th 2007 1:50PM
If they redid one of the original mega man's, it'd make a good wii title.
