Vote on F.E.A.R. sequel finalists (no acronyms this time)

After losing their traditional sequel title in a vortex of legality, Monolith and Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment were thoughtful enough to request the aid of F.E.A.R. fans in dubbing the forthcoming and explicitly terrifying entry into the series. The "Name Your Fear" contest has produced three finalists awaiting your ultimate decision and potential derision. In case you were wondering, your suggestions of Undead Kindergarten Crematorium and FPS: First-Person Scary were uniformly rejected.

The final trio of titles consists of:

Dead Echo
Project Origin
Dark Signal

The option that receives the most votes will obviously stick to Monolith's sequel like electric boo glue. (Sorry.)

dead echo is the only one of the 3 that sounds decent.

at least they are endlessly rebuildable into multiple cliched titles!

Given the previous game's plot, I'd have to say Project Origin is the best.

I wish they would use roosterteeth's fear machinima name. P.A.N.I.C.S People acting normal in crazy-ass situations.

Dark Signal is ridiculous. Sounds like a game where you decode and listen to spooky radio transmissions.

I thought of Project Origin myself (obvious really), but I like the sound of Dead Echo better.

Wow, that's close to mine! The title I submitted was Origin Project: Second Encounter (to make it clear that it was a sequel and have the name tie in with the first one).

...I guess they didn't like that idea.

Dead Echo-Sounds like a halloween game featuring echo the dolphin.

Project Origin-Origin?,isnt the name for a I dont know,A SEQUEL?.

Dark Signal-I guess this one isnt that bad but How this name will have anything to do with F.E.A.R is still a mystery,It sounds more like the title of some ID game expansion more than the name of a sequel.

If you've played through F.E.A.R.'s campaign you'd know that Project Origin makes the most sense, since it actually ties in perfectly to the plot.

Those titles are boring and forgetable. They should have gone with one of the joke titles, at least people might remember it.

Oh, and Extraction Point and the other expansion pack was announced for the 360 but I haven't heard any news about the PS3 version? Let me guess, PS3 gets shafted again?

Sony did that to themselves and their fans by using an architecture that is difficult to develop for.

I'd go for Dark Signal, so they can easily make a DS version. :P

Dam all those names are horrible. What are they thinking?

Once again these developers display their lack of imagination. I wonder how long they looked at my submission, "Decadence", before dismissing it outright because they couldn't be bothered to look it up in the dictionary.

That's a horrible name for a F.E.A.R sequel. While degeneracy does sort of fit with the reasons why the doctor submitted his daughter to those experiments, it isn't encompassing enough. Plus some people are going to think of either cookies or liquor.

I voted for Dead Echo. Project Origin would have its acronym mixed up with Project Offset.

Well, they could use Dark Signal and make a version for DS...

Those three are terrible. And they're supposed to be the best? It's a good thing that they're not acronyms, but they still sound too generic.

I remember reading this acronym in Joystiq! It made me fall off my chair and laugh till I was teary-eyed. I forgot the contributor's name, but he should be given a medal for this shit.

Let's see, alternative titles for the F.E.A.R. sequel:
- D.R.E.A.D.
- F.R.I.G.H.T.
- P.A.N.I.C.
- P.H.O.B.I.A.

I suppose "Dead Echo" is the only one of the three that sounds even remotely interesting. The others are laughable (no offense to those who made them).

Those pretty much all suck.

And like others I agree that Dead Echo sucks the least.

Is it just me or does "Name Your Fear" itself sound like an awesome title?

Well FEAR can be changed to PHOBOS.
I think that PHOBOS is best option becouse it has deep simbolic and aincient meaning in greek mitology.

As the son of Ares (god of war)and Aphrodite (goddess of love, lust, and beauty), PHOBOS himself is the personification of fear and horror.
