The real question needs to be stated again: Do these new premium consoles use the 65nm processors, and do they feature the quieter DVD drives?

Let's face it, as far as image quality, HDMI is not that big of a step above Component. Sure, it allows for 1080p output, but there just aren't that many owners of 1080p sets. I bet most "HD" flat panel owners, own a 42" plasma, which (up until about four months ago) didn't even display the minimum HD resolution of 1280x720p, not with a display of 1024x768 rectangular pixels.

So it has HDMI, spiff. But is it quieter and cooler?

I have to agree with the majority here. I for one want an HDMI connection. This would make it a whole lot easier in terms of running cables etc. I have a theater right @ 110" HD Screen and a 7.1 surround sound. The only quite I hate about it is that 7.1 is not supported by the 360 and on top of that there's no word on the cooler chips and quieter drives.

@ tobin92 :

Well, my agent told me that since it's a rebuild of my old box, they just took everything out of the plastic shell case, and put in all new components. As such, there was no HDMI port on my old one (duh, lady).

So, sadly, no HDMI on any of the rebuilds. It'll have to be a new console to have it included. Sucks.

As for the rest of it she couldn't confirm any specs for the rebuild, be it new heat sink or 65nm.

As shitty as it is, that's they way it's gonna be, at least in my instance.
