TimeShift changes history Oct. 30 on PC, Xbox 360

After a very, very, very long wait, TimeShift is finally ready to phase into our time line Oct. 30 on PC and Xbox 360 -- PlayStation 3 owners will sadly have to wait until "December." Sierra says it's kicking off the pre-orders this week and customers will receive a code for an "exclusive playable character" for the multiplayer game at select retailers.

TimeShift reappeared again earlier this year following its umpteenth delay last fall. This time around it finally felt like the game might come out and we did have a good experience with the title at E3 this year. We're just hoping TimeShift uses its abilities to bring a fresh experience to the whole time-bending shooter formula we've gotten used to with games like F.E.A.R. and Max Payne. We've waited long enough.

It needs a little more Metroid on the cover.

It's coming to the PS3, too--eventually. Now that IS something new.

The PS3 crowd should be used to waiting by now. Kinda like any gamer in Europe. It's a trend, they'll grow numb to it eventually.

too bad the demos for this game were terrible. they better release a new and improved one if they want people to forget those monstrocities.

Basically that means if you have a PS3 wait until next June to play the game...That seriously sux for PS3 owners...Im not trying to be a jerk either that really sux for you guys I guess just get it on PC...

This game is also coming out on the ps3 so your uh just another FPS shooter crap is nonsense. I say that anyone who says "Gee another 360 FPS" should be banned from any thread relating to Killzone2, Haze, Unreal Tournament3, or anyother PS3 FPS because after all it's just another FPS. Hypocrits

Actually, those are generic FPS with guys in cyber suits. They just happen to be on the PS3, where EVERY GAME BEING RELEASED is not a generic FPS with guys in cyber suits.

(Overgeneralization. I know there are 360 games that are not generic FPS with guys in cyber suits, it just feels that way.)

By the way, I don't like the PS3.

And by the way, I'm not bashing the 360 as a system. I don't really care one way or another about the hardware. I just hate dual-analog shooters with a passion, and it doesn't help that so many are so similar and plentiful nowadays.

The PS3 copy wasn't delayed. It actually is coming out on time, but the PC and 360 versions got sent to the past to destroy the competition, so the PS3 copy could launch as a platinum seller.

Also the cover is a little weak. It needs more something... maybe more... samfish?

Also woulda been cool if the cover showed something dealing with time, or time travel, instead of GENERIC HELMETED HERO. Thank you very much, but I only used GENERIC HELMETED HOT BABE HEROES.

Now I remember, the cover needs more WIN and less SUCK.

The Cover Looks pretty good to me, and his Helmet looks better than Metroids.

LOL thats funny cuz I still refuse to play FPS on PS3 but I might have to change my mind with KZ2 even though the first one sucked the second one shows some promise with those graphics

Sorry buddy but Killzone 2 will be the same as the last just prettier. No character whatsoever. I dont see any fun out of that game it looks boring just like the first one and I bought the first one. It still wont be as good as Gears or even COD4 when it comes out. Glad I swiched to Microsoft and 360

I believe you...The reason I dont play PlayStation FPS is just because after I played Halo and felt the controls I made up my mind. Thats nothing against PS FPS guys hey I mean more power to you but I think the 360 controller is the superior FPS game pad. Its the cloest thing to a PC KB/M combo I've played with

You know... FPS have become what platformers were in the NES/SNES eras. They are popular and there are lots of them. Anyway, I think the complaints against FPS are pretty lame in general. There are quite a few generic ones, but there are also many that offer completely different experiences the same way Sonic and Mario offer different platforming experiences.

Between Halo, CoD 4 and Crysis I wonder why anybody else insists on putting out an FPS this fall. Surely games like Area 51, Haze and TimeShift would get more attention if they weren't being so overshadowed by the juggernauts?

This is something like the third version of this game in three years. Unfortunately, it's lost more and more distinctive visual aspects as time has gone on. I will say this though, the game looks significantly better in motion than it does in screenshots.

I'm so sick of FPS. Hopefully Crysis will live up to the hype.

I really don't see PS3 owners having to wait for so many multiplatform games as that big of a deal, but it has to rank as a solid minor annoyance. Some 360 versions will also come out later, but there are just so many delayed PS3 multiplatform games.

And really, what exactly is the reason for it? It is harder to develop for, but couldn't you still kinda plan for that and get them to release at the same time? Does anyone have a good answer to why this seems to happen so much?

I hope they fixed this game. Remember that demo a year or so back? My review: TimeShit.
