Yes ripping scenes out of Reboot and Beast Wars would have been much better.

I'll definitely go watch it, if I'll enjoy it still remains to be decided. Ever since Doom I've been skeptical of movies about video games.

Forget the movie, I want that game!

It looks to be a viral placement. The site is filled with XBOX [original], Doritos ads, and Mountain Dew.

Also look at one of the "breaking news" stories. The chair "featured" in the film is a real product they are trying to sell:

No problem against product placement in games, but this seems a bit too blatant. And the fact that they are talking about top of the line CGI and showing that crud in the trailers? Gotta be viral.

Also they finished the movie in 2005. What is taking them so long?

"at least the movie looks good though"? I hope that was sarcasm because that thing looks like crap. Easily the worst film/idea to come along in 07 if not all time. The whole thing should have been left on the cutting room floor. I would like to thank Joystiq for turning me on to his god awful flick though.

IMDB lists it as an action-adventure comedy. Most comedies try to show some jokes in their trailers, unless they are spoofs, which would give credence to the idea that this whole thing is meant to be terrible. Unless of course whoever put it on IMDB decided that it was too terrible to not have comedy attached to it...
