This post is not necessarily for you. You may have already read the headline and moved on actually, in which case, thanks for visiting, please enjoy our other posts. But there are a handful of readers out there who will see the below information and triumphantly pump their spindly fists in the air and bolt for the couch, praying that they have enough points to make the purchase. It is for them that we present the following bitter dregs news.
In the first batch, there's new DLC for Band of Bugs. It's 250 points ($3.12) and will get you new levels and units and some other stuff. There are new games for Soltrio Solitare for just 150 points ($1.87). Also, 300 points ($3.75) will get you (and we're not making this up) "12 new river tiles" in Carcassonne! Finally, there are about a bajillion new costumes for Rumble Roses XX, and each one's going to cost you 80 points (too much) so you better start stocking up, pervo.
OK, that should cover it. Thanks for bearing with us.
The river tiles have been a free pack-in with the Carcassonne board game for years now. Now, even with this, the XBOX Live version of the game is much cheaper than the real thing. But still, after enough horse-armor overcharges, I'm not willing to give the benefit of the doubt to any company these days. Besides, charging me very little for something I expected in the full version anyway is still not going to make me happy, no matter how you slice it.
The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins sung by Leonard Nemoy... Marginally better than his role of Galvatron and his guest cameo in the Monorail episode of Simpsons.
Wow, redefining nickel and dime. If Microsoft doesn't come up with a better policy for DLC something bad is going to happen. Especially with PSN doing things in dollars and cents and at far more reasonable prices.
Yes, because the PSN offers so many great values on their store. The Live marketplace has more ripoffs, more freebies, and more solid values than the PSN. It, quite frankly, has more stuff period. If you see a bad deal that is totally optional as a big negative, you are one goofy sob.
Man I hate the River Expansion as it is...why on Earth would I pay $4 for more river tiles! I just want more expansion sets not only river tiles. I really do love the game though...
I wouldn't have a problem paying for the other carcassone expansions, or the settlers expansions for that matter. However the river tiles come with the game now and it doesnt really change play at all.
Though if it makes you feel better they were probably $10 back when you had to pay for the physical version of them.
This is the River II expansion, which does add some things over the River tiles that come with the game. Most importantly, it has river fork tile that gets placed first, so then you can add river tiles to either branch. It makes a big difference over the regular river tiles.
You all might still consider it a ripoff, but I just thought I'd point out that it's not just more of the same. You can see all the River II tiles here:
Wow, that video is awesome. I can only imagine what the episode from which that came is about. Everyone seems soo serious for being dressed up in togas, minus the one dude still in his space skivvies.
