Age of Conan's last delay wasn't so 'final'
Remember when Funcom promised in January that their delay of Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures to October was guaranteed as the "final launch date" for the MMO? Well, they totally lied. Age of Conan has been delayed again until next March. This time around they aren't silly enough to say it's the "final" time. Funcom CEO Trond Arne Aas said, "We believe that the new release date is in the best interest of the gamers, our company and our owners."Our time with the game has been fine, but a ten minute demo doesn't give enough of an answer to how this game will avoid the MMO trap of making players not realize they are "waging a war against the mind-numbing effects of repetition." Obviously the developers think they need more time and publisher Eidos seems to be on board with that idea. Funcom now has until next March to announce another delay.

Damn. I guess that is better than releasing a bug filled game that everyone will stop playing in 2 months. I may have to resub to EQ2 in the meantime. 9 Dragons just doesn't have the content to keep me entertained while "waging a war against the mind-numbing effects of repetition." LOL man thats a great quote, I'm going to try to use it once a day until March.

I'll be back...... in March.

I'm sure Pachter will site the PS3 as the reason for the delay.

No, sorry, Unreal 3 Engine's fault.

Love how he's GRIPPING THE SWORDS EDGE.
Only Arnold could be so BAMF.

Actually, he isnt holding anything sharp. The part of the sword he is gripping is called the Ricasso - The dull portion of a blade just above the hilt. Most two handed swords had this unsharpened area to act as an extended grip, to help with leverage and bracing against a charge.

Well I should have seen this coming. They had a lackluster showing at E3 which showed NO new content and was pretty much the same old crap. No news on siege warfare, optimization, dx10, spell weaving, etc. Then, yesterday, their website is down. No official forums and I sat there and didn't sell out my position because i'm dumb. Thank you Funcom. Thank you so much. Now I shall have to go and buy more of you're stock since you are now 42% down.

Grindstone @ Aug 10th 2007 1:04PM
That's right Matrix, you promised!
I LIED!
You Liiieieeeeieiieiiieie...!
-What happened to Sully?
I let him go.

I am actually absolutely OK with this for two reasons:
- autumn already is overloaded with good releases that I won't have a chance in hell to play all
- a polished MMORPG release would make such a refreshing difference! I am tired of endless beta testing after the release, so if they put the time into fixing bugs and balancing the game, I am all for it and can wait! (if it's just to add more features that also don't work then screw them, but I sincerely hope its the first and not the latter)
