Silicon Knights' lawyer responds to Epic countersuit
GameDaily BIZ has been following the back and forth between Epic and Silicon Knights regarding their dueling lawsuits over the mess that is Too Human and the "inadequacies" of the Unreal Engine 3. Silicon Knights' lawyer has spoken out against Epic's claims that Silicon Nights stole their tech saying SK has now built a "better" engine. The nit-picky part becomes how much of that engine is based of the Unreal Engine 3 tech?
Silicon Knights' attorney, Christopher T. Holland, of a law firm with way too many names, says they'll stand their ground. He says the counterclaim has no merit. Epic is asking for $650,000 in their counterclaim while SK wants "millions of dollars more." Holland also points out that the suit will have no effect on Too Human and that the compensation they are seeking is "based on substantial delay and damages that Epic caused." He goes on to say that the game will come out in a "timely fashion." You know, ignoring the whole two year delay.

Really? I kind of suspect that Silicon Knights will soon be operating in a "bankrupt fashion."

Well after delaying this game for so long they knew no one would still be interested.
The Million dollars is just to compensate for the loss of not selling many units when it does come out.

It should be interesting watching both sides prove and dis-prove that Unreal3 engine is in the Too Human engine. It would be pretty impressive if the Too Human guys created an engine from scratch considering when they dumped the Unreal 3 engine.

Epic knows what they need to do.
So stop hiding behind Gear of bLow
Zeus the God @ Aug 10th 2007 10:29PM
There is no such game as Gears of bLow.
There is a Gears of War, and its a kick ass game... Much better than Halo 3 will be, and definitely better looking.

If too Human was a handheld it would be the gizmodo.
Well I guess is safe too say Too human is just smoke and mirrors.

"Timely Fashion"? WTF? This game was supposed to come out in 1999! On PS1! Then on gamecube, and now on 360 8 years later and its Epics fault?

Silicon Knights are a bunch of bitches.
Zeus the God @ Aug 10th 2007 10:31PM
Silicon Knights must give good head, because after this lawsuit they won't have money to put the game out; makes ya' wonder how it will be out in a "timely fashion."

as long as i get my unreal tournament III i dont give a flying ****. SK cant get it through there heads that they just suck if they were really into this game they wouldnt of let it come up this far in the development. how far do you have to go to realize that the game does not meet consumer wants. i think they tried doing it without epic then ended up falling flat on there faces at E3 and now somebody is breathing down there neck for a great game that sells and the know they wont be able produce that so they need a scapegoat.
