@6 and thats why bioshock is a game thats designed around an immersive single player experience, unlike halo which has a pathetically dull single player, and only a moderate multiplayer.

Halo fanboys.

@Niyx
Halo Combat Evolved had a fantastic single player, and if it didn't, it wouldn't have gotten as popular as it has today. Things don't just get huge world wide for no reason. Although Halo 2's single player can be argued as slightly dull, but still...i'm the optimistic type and i'm assuming bungie is making sure it doesn't suck.

Bioshock fanboys..

sigh

Disclaimer: Nothing against Bioshock, i'm excited for it and hoping it'll be great, but no one has played it yet... so why compare it to halo?

Agreed for Halo2, Halo1 will always be great to me however, and hopefully, Halo3 will be too (from the beta i already like it more than halo2).

If you guys kept up with 360 fanboy you would realize that uk oxm gave bioshock a perfect score.

It will be an incredible game,and why must every xbox game be compared to halo right away? Come on people, just let games stand for themselves. You dont see people comparing movies like Anchorman to Casablanca, cant they both be good in their own way?

Comparisons are always gonna be drawn to Halo when FPS are involved. But Halo fanboys are always the ones who draw the comparisons because they refuse to believe anything could be better. But I agree that comparisons shouldnt be drawn between the two, Bioshock is an immersive interactive FPS and so the single player matters so much more. Halo and alike are reactive FPS and basically demand multiiplayer to give you anything beyond a linear single player story. Either way Ill be buying Bioshock and Halo 3 and I know Ill have a great time playing both and enjoying the vastly different experiences the games will offer

sigh bioshock fanboys look here @8 just cause i mention halo 3 makes me a fanboy huh. that you must be the fanbuy of the century. i'm looking forward to this game but with no multiplayer the replay ability will drop on this game. even halo 3's campaign will have more replay abilty cause every knows 4 player co-op meta games, and legendary. if you can implimant all that great stuff on bioshock onto multiplayer than it probably be good, but i don't have high expectation on this game since shock hasn't been around for a decade. but i'm a fanboy and i obviously don't know anything about anything.

A couple of weeks ago somebody posted that Big Daddy looks like something they picked up at a yard sale for their fishbowl. Ever since then, I just can't look look at the character without thinking about how ridiculous it looks.

Remember, The Darkness scored well with critics... High critical ratings do not always translate to high sales, nor do they necessarily coordinate with players' personal preferences. It's not over until the actual players' votes are cast. I think the key to high sales for this type of game is to release a strong demo; hopefully, we'll see one soon.

Also, the analogy of comparing Casablanca to Anchorman is absurd - they are two completely different genres released during completely different times in history. This analogy would be more appropriate if you were comparing Bioshock to Parappa the Rapper for the PSX. Comparing one FPS title to another (especially if they are released within the same time frame) is absolutely appropriate. Games like Halo, Halo 2, and Half-Life helped to define the genre while setting the bar for future releases. Developers are aware of gamers' expectations, and we deserve them to strive to rise above the already-set standard through innovation.

Bioshock is to Halo what Oblivion is to Final Fantasy, in that one is an open-ended game with role-playing involved whereas the other is a linear story. Comparison is very difficult unless you're simply deciding what one you prefer.

Bioshock = FPS
Halo 2 = FPS

Final Fantasy = RPG
Oblivion = RPG
(Although I do agree that the two titles you chose within the genre happen to have rather specific niche audiences in some cases.)

While I do agree with you to a certain extent, you can split hairs even thinner if you'd like.

And you're right; comparison is indeed necessary if you're deciding what one you prefer, which ultimately can translate to sales. However, I am sure that if Bioshock is good enough (and I am hoping that it is), it will do very well.

Actually a halo fanboy didn't start the comparison this time. No offense to Bioshock, but it won't be even half of the game Halo 3 will be, please stop kidding yourselves. Just because you don't like Halo doesn't mean the millions of fans that do are just going to suddenly agree with you and start to hate Halo as well. Calling a game series that sold over 15 million copies "dull" is just being completely ignorant, is your own opinion, and should not be brought up on a board talking about Bioshock in the first place. Quit the Halo comparisons.

I think that this game will be incredible, and will be just as good as halo's single player. Of course halo will be the better game because it has multiplayer that is friggin awesome. I love halo, and I am a huge halo fanboy. But I am also really excited for Bioshock. Both will be awesome and I don't know why we are acting like they have to compete with eachother.

It's not like were talking about killzone guys, were talking two 360 exclusives that are better than anything the ps3 has crapped out latley.

I will like Halo3 better because of the fiction, since i'm really into it. But i'll prefer Bioshock as a game, for it's freshness, for it's role-playing decisions and upgrades, for it's lavishly beautiful art style and just for it's open-ended story and gameplay.

If I had to choose between Halo3 campaign and Bioshock, i'd choose Bioshock, since I could just watch someone else play Halo3 campaign. (though I really want to play the campaign of halo3, bioshock's gameplay looks more interesting.

Just reserved the special edition of Bioshock today. Wish it wasn't Gamestop exclusive, but hey, what can ya do?

And I also love Halo, and I'm picking both of these FPS titles for the simple fact that they each have different facets that appeal to me. Bioshock has the awesome story that will almost never play the same way twice, and Halo 3 has the story that I've been waiting 7 years to finish, while it also has the multiplayer that my friends and I will play for countless hours.

You are an idiot. This game doesn't deserve to be even in the presence of Halo 3. Halo 3 is so much better than this game it isn't even funny. Not to say this game is bad, but saying it is so much better and more "innovative" than Halo 3 when it doesn't have even 1/10 the features Halo 3 will have, that is just an ignorant statement

Halo 3 has fantastic multiplayer and is a great Sci fi action epic.

Bioshock has ludicrous AI that you can manipulate and is a creepy Sci fi noir.

they are both extremely fantastic games, and deserve all our attention!

...(but so far Bioshock managed to get a 10/10 from OXM and a 95% from PC Gaming sooo....)

Guys, both are gunna be good! Why can't they both just live in harmony!

I hate that when some Halo fanboys freak out when a game threatens their standing at the best fps on a console. I consider myself a Halo fanboy, but I'm not gunna act like bioshock sucks.

Let halo be halo, and let bioshock be bioshock. Both will be amazing and both will justify why the xbox 360 is raping the ps3 right now!!!!!
