While the unbearably long time it's taking to download the Bioshock demo (65% and counting, baby!) is pretty much excruciating to us who are hotly anticipating the game, one has to imagine there's at least one guy who's got a smile on his face: Designer Ken Levine. According to a new interview, he and his team have had quite the struggle to get the shooter to this point.
Senior designer Joe McDonagh detailed the long journey for CVG, saying that Levine had taken the game to several publishers who decided that the cerebral FPS wasn't a fit for their company. McDonagh rails, "Something I realized very quickly was that as much as your boss won't ever know that you turned down a future game of the year, he will know that you signed up a turkey. You don't get fired for not taking risks." If the response to the demo is any indication of earning potential, there are a few execs out there who had better keep mum about meeting with Levine.

Clearly you're on drugs.
I'm at 53%....God this is excruciating pain. What makes it even worse is that I STILL have to download Stranglehold and Eternal Sonata after this is finally done.
And yeah I'm starting to hate my Linksys router.

You guys must have some seriously slow connections. My demo downloaded in less than an hour and I have DSL in California. I also have the cheapest D-Link router that I could find 4 years ago (I swear that D-Link is the bestest for the money).
That said, I think the demo has convinced me that this is the FPS to have this season.

Can anyone please help me. My download has been at 53% for at least 1 and half hours now and its starting to really bother me.
Is there anything that I need to change with my internet connection. I have a Linksys Router and I have it connected to the 360 through a WIRED connection. Do I need to change the channels or something? My DHCP is enabled right now. Is that the issue?
Any ideas are welcome.

This game looks awesome from the demo, though my only complaint would have to be the hacking system. Maybe I just suck at it (I do), but it seems like a bad version of the classic pipe game to me.

Me too,Delta. I thought the hacking system would just take away eve. But that doesn't seem to be the case in the demo.

Well, you can "bribe" them (What? Bribing a security camera? What do security bots need money for?). I seem to recall the devs saying that EVE was the money of Rapture. I didn't realize that you actually used cash for things. That's actually another strange thing - "You picked up Dollars (x)". Just sounds funny.
