I don't in fact! Unless of course, I am attempting to impregnate samfish's underage sibling. This is precisely why I feel I am able to make such a postulation; I spend all my time loving (on) computers.

PS3 engineering is just too sweet.

I've seen the tear down of the PS3, and I'm not at all surprised it doesn't overheat. It has some serious cooling in that case and over all it's pretty solid. It's kind of ironic that one of the first well built Sony consoles is doing so poorly.

you people are priceless. You would rather play a console that breaks 1/3 of the time than a console that 5-8 really worthy games less than the 360. That will change soon as the PS3 starts to gain steam like the 360 did a year after it's launch. And then you won't be able to use the argument that there are no games.

In the end, you will still be stuck with a console that poorly designed and breaks frequently. I'm starting to think that the Xbox can be compared to GMC, Ford and Chrysler in terms of it's quality. Yeah it's cheaper but there is a reason for that.

This is major PR burn by Sony.

I can't tell you how many times I've gone to stores, where a PS3 is on display and available for play, to find the PS3 dead. When I asked a sales rep about it, their response is always the same.

"The machine burned up."

Here is proof of how well-made PlayStation 3 is. I laugh at all of you who wasted your hard-earned cash on that cheap break-after-one-year rubbish by a company that doesn't actually give a shit about you.

Apart from the fact that what you have just said isn't just a lie, it is complete and utter fan-boy crap. Get the fuck out and learn some development & engineering facts son.

I'm surprised this hasn't been picked up on yet, but a *whopping* 4 and a half days? Jesus, when did the standards on electronic equipment become so low? We have servers that do leagues more than a PS3 that can function for years in hot, stuffy server rooms without much of an issue and we're marvelling that this thing managed to go just over half a week? I've got a PC that is much more powerful, using the 8800GTX that Nvidia publicly said made the PS3 obsolete, and it's been going two weeks straight without an issue ... running Vista of all things. Yet we make happy faces over 4 and one half freaking days in conditions that most PCs laugh at.

When it can go at LEAST two months without flipping upside down and curling its legs like a poisoned spider, then we can start to consider it somewhat stable. The PS3 isn't well designed, it just isn't designed as badly as the 360.

Huh. So maybe Sony has finally produced a console that won't die within two years of purchase.

And they only had to charge $600 for it.

Huh. I guess I must have just imagined that class action suit against Sony over the PS2's frequent failures, then.
