Guitar Hero II on 360 gets My Chemical Romance pack
Bust out the eye-liner, paramilitary garb and misplaced anger: A three-pack of My Chemical Romance songs have just hit the Xbox Live Marketplace. If you haven't darkened a Hot Topic door in a few years, the rest of this sentence won't make sense to you, but "Teenagers," "Famous Last Words" and "This is How I Disappear" (all from The Black Parade) are included in the pack.
The price is 500 points ($6.25) for the new songs, which are master tracks from the band. We don't understand why these cost the same as the Guitar Hero I rehashes, but we have to say this is a much better value for some great songs, sure to brighten the day of even the most tortured emo kid.
[Thanks, Dylan]

They're probably cost the same because it's a marketing attempt and it's being subsidised by the record company ...
or something
inlogic @ Aug 14th 2007 8:50AM
My Chemical Romance sucks.
Sean @ Aug 14th 2007 8:58AM
OK seriously, MCR should in NO WAY be considered. They are fucking pop punk more than anything.
Navk123 @ Aug 14th 2007 8:59AM
okay i hate guitar hero, as a bassist, its annoying to find your guitarists taking about guitar hero rather then working on sweet riffs you worked on at practice, and now there putting freakin garbage on there games, for stupid 15 year old high school emos to think there awesome cuz they can play un orginal riffs sung by some annoying guy who says hes bi to get all the chicks to like him, this band doesn't even have the musical skill to be a good band, and its just cuz there a flavor of the week, and another thing i hate about guitar hero in general, if you have played guitar hero and you think you can then take your dads old acoustic and then think your a guitarist please go kill your self, and im done now :)
megaStryke @ Aug 14th 2007 9:05AM
Oh, so you are a big-time rock star now? Ooooh! Can I have your autograph? What albums have you done? Have you gone on tour yet? What are your hit songs?
Sam @ Aug 14th 2007 9:08AM
Nobody thinks they can play guitar hero then pick up a real guitar and play it.
Seriously, that complaint is really getting old.
I played guitar since i was 8, and i'm good. Really good. I aced every grade music test before i was 13 and i still practice daily.
That DOESN'T mean that picking up guitar hero, a video game, isn't amazingly fun for me. Just because i'm probably skilled enough to play 90% of the songs in the game, doesn't mean that i want to go out and learn all of them for real.
I just want to pick up the game, try and 5 star jordan again, and have a good time.
Same way i could go and murder some innocent people outside on the street if i wanted to...but i'd rather just play GTA.
Seriously, get a clue.
Oh and MCR. Their public image and whiny singer offend my brain entirely, but the song that was included with Guitar Hero 2 on the 360 ("Dead!") was unbelieveably catchy and remains one the funnest songs to play on guitar hero i think.
So...i wont disregard this pack before i hear the songs...although i'm sure i know what they'll sound like tbh, damn emo music is all the same :P
T3H WICKERMAN @ Aug 14th 2007 9:42AM
Omg your a bassist. do we give a shit? We dont care about you or your band mates tool. Cant you just say that my chemical romance is very gay instead of blowing your own horn? You are now cursed to start dressing up like these poncy little tarts when you "perform" your "music". Just bite down hard on that pillow while you are wailing on that "solo". ;)
Megaqwerty @ Aug 15th 2007 10:22PM
People do, however, play Keyboardmania and then pick up an actual piano and play that.
Konami should make some more of that: the very fact that it teaches basic piano skills effectively dictates the advertising campaign for you.
Lifted 0ne 4l9 @ Aug 14th 2007 9:03AM
no thanks i do not want to play any additional songs from these lil bitches.
baby sea tuna @ Aug 14th 2007 9:04AM
Great, now that we know they're still paying attention to GHII, how about some bands that aren't complete and utter garbage? I swear, at the rate they've been releasing the DLC for this game, you'd think they hate money or something.
I still can't believe the ...Rocks the '80s songs aren't on XBLM yet. I think they've made all the money they're going to from the PS2 version...at least until they drop the price. $50 is far too expensive for what you actually get in that expansion pack.
baby sea tuna @ Aug 14th 2007 9:06AM
Aw, calling my chemical romance "pop punk" makes Ben Weasel cry! Try "mall punk" instead. That way, no feelings will get hurt.
Not any that matter anyway...
Lifted 0ne 4l9 @ Aug 14th 2007 9:11AM
corny ass pop mall punk
Sesur @ Aug 14th 2007 8:20PM
Screeching Weasel FTW!
murph @ Aug 14th 2007 9:18AM
Lame! Lame! Lame!
Raikage @ Aug 14th 2007 5:57PM
Listen to their old stuff, their new stuff sucks compared... The first album, not Three Cheers...
Teenagers is an alright song...
copa @ Aug 14th 2007 9:10AM
For 100 points each, I'd try them out. These are too expensive.
Phranctoast @ Aug 14th 2007 9:16AM
can we have fall out boy next....lmao
Patrick @ Aug 14th 2007 9:57AM
yeah, i got nothin against these dudes, black parade (song)and wheres your heart are pretty decent, but they have like no guitar!!!!
Zeus the God @ Aug 14th 2007 9:23AM
I really don't understand... I don't like GH2 or anything, and I HATE punk/emo, but I actually find quite a bit of MCR's stuff pretty damn good.
Todd H. @ Aug 14th 2007 9:25AM
How can you have a My Chem pack without "Helena"? No thanks...
jimy @ Aug 14th 2007 9:27AM
If you don't like MCR, then don't buy the pack. Learn the real guitar, start your own band, make it big, then release your own pack on XBL.
doomcloud @ Aug 14th 2007 9:40AM
i would, but i dont blow a&r reps for record deals
jsn @ Aug 14th 2007 9:33AM
I don't even know the songs or very much from the band, but they'll get my money. I've yet to find a song in the game that wasn't fun to play, even songs that I don't really like.
ShaggyB @ Aug 14th 2007 9:36AM
These are way too over priced. again of all the requested bands why did they go with My Chemical Romance? Where is the AC/DC, Metallica, Zepplin?
And to the guy who got mad cause his band was talking about Guitar Hero and not the song he wrote.... 2 comments
1. perhaps you should relax alittle. The game is fun. No one thinks its real. Just cause i can 5 star a song in Guitar Hero doesnt make me think i can play it on a real 6 string. (7 if youre Korn) I play guitar and i enjoy the game too. Big deal, i dont think im eddie vanhalen because i can play "you really got me" in a game.
2. maybe your riff just wasnt good and they didnt want to hurt your feelings.
Eitherway, consider maken a band that wants to play not discuss gaming instead. Hard to be a famous group if you cant co-exist now.
Mr XBob @ Aug 14th 2007 9:36AM
Sick of all the MCR hate to be honest. It's like the hate for EA. You're all just doing it cause its 'popular'.
Get a fucking grip, seriously. If you dont like them, dont download it. Why waste your lives trying to force your opinion on everybody?
I personally think MCR are a brilliant band. They have made some of the most memorable music to date compared to all the junk Hip-Hop RnB 'Look at me I'm a millionare and have hos following me in my oversized hummer' bullshit you see on TV.
Can't wait to get home and download these babies - certainly some of the best of the album. And at that price, its a steal.
doomcloud @ Aug 14th 2007 9:41AM
is that going to be before or after you cut yourself
Kizzle @ Aug 14th 2007 9:45AM
"I personally think MCR are a brilliant band."
Because you fail at having good taste. Since based on your comments you apparently also enjoy EA's constant stream of shit, this does not surprise me. Better get out there, pal, it's MADDEN-OLIDAY today
Saying people hate it because its popular is hilarious. There is plenty of good music that manages to be reasonably popular, this nonsense band doesn't fall under that umbrella.
MrXBob @ Aug 14th 2007 9:48AM
Oh i'm sorry thats right, anybody that likes MCR must be an emo kid.
That must also mean I dangle children from balconies, wear shoulder pads and am black, right? Cause I like Michael Jackson, 80's tracks and anything with a beat.
Seriously, unless you can understand why you have so much hatred for other people's music taste, get a god damn grip and shut the hell up already. Nobody thinks you're cool because you hate a bunch of people.
And no, I personally don't enjoy most of EA's games - but that doesnt make me run around the internet spouting crap like 'EA SUCK'. They obviously don't suck - they've done well enough to get this far.
d-pad @ Aug 14th 2007 10:38AM
"Seriously, unless you can understand why you have so much hatred for other people's music taste, get a god damn grip and shut the hell up already. Nobody thinks you're cool because you hate a bunch of people."
How about you take your own advice and shut your mouth for a second, mmkay?
People hate this fucking band because their music is shit. Not because it's trendy, but because it fails as music. I would wager that your CD collection also contains a healthy number of Fallout Boy, Hawthorne Heights and Funeral for a Friend albums.
You like the band? You think they're re brilliant?
That's fucking fantastic.
Just don't get all mopey because other people see the music for what it is - generic pop punk with an artificial edge marketed to insecure teens who think that wearing dark clothes and eye liner represent the war on society.
MrXBob @ Aug 14th 2007 10:46AM
Good god, do you even know what you sound like?
This isnt Jerry Springer.
Nobody cares if you hate something. Just because you think something is 'generic' doesnt make it so. You've clearly never listened to any of MCR's albums - they are far from generic. I know of no other band that sounds like them or has their stage presence. But of course you wouldnt know that either because you've never seen them live or, again, even listened to any of the songs the whole way through.
It makes me sick that all the elitist bastards here think the only 'good' music is anything by bands that arent around these days. You can stay stuck in the past if you like, thats none of my concern. But dont hate on something because you don't like it.
It's a heck of a lot easier to think 'well gee, I dont like that.' and scroll past it, than to actually click the comments section, type up a hate-filled rant and then read replies in order to give them your speech too. It's really pathetic.
d-pad @ Aug 14th 2007 11:06AM
"You've clearly never listened to any of MCR's albums "
Stopped reading right there. One can't argue with that awesome logic. I guess I've never listened to any of Celine Dion's albums either.
Have a great day.
inlogic @ Aug 14th 2007 12:18PM

A bit hypocrite aren't you? So you come here and tell us that we are wrong by saying that My "Synthetic" Chemical Romance is great and so and so, then to criticize a whole genre(hip-hop) based on your 'knowledge' of what you see on MTV or something, every genre has it's sell offs in the likes of 50 Cents, Eminems, Jay Zees etc.
We aren't dissing the whole Punk Rock genre, as there are great, great groups out there, which, My Chemical Romance doesn't makes part of. There isn't anything truly inventive about them besides some catchy tunes and lame lyrics and a pseudo-disruptive style that makes people like you and other's think of them as the true thing. Being disruptive nowadays is trendy, but very few are truly disruptive, and as such most of them are all wannabes, pretending to have "their" thing. I laugh at them.
reaver @ Aug 14th 2007 9:47AM
I'm excited about this. Their new album is awesome. (I'm not some emokid, either)
This Is How I Disappear is a tight song and beats the shit out of a lot of songs released already. Your loss.
Doug Kaplan @ Aug 14th 2007 10:04AM
reaver, I think me and you are the only ones who see this as good news and the only thing I am left to say is I am upset I have the PS2 version of the game since I can't purchase these MCR tracks. Ooh, look at everyone else that says its cool to hate this band, I don't care, I like them a lot. They put on an amazing live show and they play great fun yet sometimes depressing music. I hope these are downloadable for the Wii version of GH3 when it's released because I'd love to play along with these songs.
AgentESPIO7 @ Aug 15th 2007 12:25AM
No, I'm with you too. I like MCR a lot, and think it'll be fun to play it on Guitar Hero. Everyone else's loss.
Christian Serrano @ Sep 27th 2007 11:19PM
I agree, they are not emo, their songs have a lot of motivational stuff as well as beat the shit out of something vibes to em. so if anything i would call them progressive punk cause they try to incorporate other elements into their music, anyone who doesnt like mcr, thats fine, its ur opinion, but dont call them emo when their not, cause gerard way is as good a frontman as Freddie Mercury when it comes to energy and devotion, and probably gayness but thats besides the point
konajinx @ Aug 14th 2007 9:45AM
Mm yeah, when I think of great guitar tunes, I automatically think of this craptastic band. You know, I'm honestly glad I'm 34 and enjoy all the music I do, because I think I'd be suicidal if the popular music for my generation was nothing but shitty bands like MCR. Go ahead and let the age and suicide flames begin. :) Seriously, though, who honestly listens to and gets excited by anything new this band (and others of its ilk) turn out? What happened to just good old, straight forward rock and roll that wasn't wrapped up in mall chic and filled with lyrics about how tough and depressing everything is? Shit, even the Cure knew when to write some happy tunes to balance out the dreariness.
/rant over
Kizzle @ Aug 14th 2007 9:47AM
No, your loss, for spending $6.25 on a fucking MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE song pack. My Chemical Romance couldn't beat the shit out of themselves, let alone anything else. You're "not emo?" Go cry anyway.
T3H WICKERMAN @ Aug 14th 2007 9:54AM
This mass marketed crap is NOT PUNK! its a dolled up boy band. Nowhere in name should punk be placed. Does this crap sound anything like the subhumans, ramones, crass, misfits, dead kennedys, or anything else for that matter? NO. These wankers wish they would be remembered as some legendary underground band but instead it will be remembered by most as an awful fad band that everyone that was into it is ashamed to remember. ( Just dont tell emo chin she may cry)
reaver @ Aug 14th 2007 10:05AM
It's not Punk Hero.
Funny enough, you'll all probably download it because XBLM is a tempting whore. Your nerdy eyes can't help but see a checkmark next to those available downloads.
Bitches.
The Wicker Man @ Aug 14th 2007 10:10AM
Never said it was punk hero just dont agree that this type of music should have "punk" in its title. Completely different genre. Now that u mention it though even though I dislike this band I will go download it. OOOHHHH xboxlive marketplace demands a blood sacrafice and points.....BRRAAIINNSS...I Mean POOOIIINNNTTTSS!!!
Mr Slavio @ Aug 14th 2007 9:59AM
The guitar hero fad is dying. Just like DDR. Can't blame them for trying to cash in on it as much as possible.
Damdo @ Aug 14th 2007 10:10AM
I roflmao at you all. Not only does this band suck, it goes with that sucky Xcrap three-shitsty console you all wasted your money on. Hahaha, I can't believe you wasted your money on that crap! Hahahahahaha, seriously, I'm laughing so hard right now at you alll! You poor, poor bastard fuck-ups!
T3H WICKERMAN @ Aug 14th 2007 10:14AM
haha related to a heavenly sword dev? can u get them to sign my copy fanboy? hope the god of war knock off fad doesnt end soon or your relatives will starve. (that and they paid all that cash for a ps3 with no games, when they should of stuck with the good ps2)
JL @ Aug 14th 2007 10:14AM
God, I hate this band. And as for this game, come on people, its just another rhythm game with props.
CommonSense @ Aug 14th 2007 10:17AM
My Chemical Romance, huh? Will they be putting out an EMO add-on pack for this? You know: Some eyeliner, to accentuate my manufactured torment, and a razor blade so I can make cuts on my arm.
AirIntake @ Aug 14th 2007 10:22AM
Wow, there's a lot of hate here. You people jealous much of a shitty emo band's success? I'm the farthest thing from emo, but I can still enjoy some MCR. At least this song pack is slightly less of a ripoff than the GHI songs, because they're at least master tracks.
hvnlysoldr @ Aug 14th 2007 10:33AM
Hippie > Emo
I take this from Cartman. "Hippies want to save the world but all they do is smoke weed." "Emo's focus only on their pain (which might not exist) and being non-conforming hypocritically conforming to the emo culture."
Purple Haze @ Aug 14th 2007 11:32PM
