After some speculation last week, Sierra has finally let us in on some of the details behind their upcoming PSP game based on this winter's Aliens vs. Predator movie. Most importantly, the new game is being developed by Rebellion, best known for their well received 1995 Jaguar game, Aliens vs. Predator, and its similarly named (and even better received) PC successor.
Unlike those outings, this PSP release will be a "third-person action-adventure" (that's okay, since we know how FPSs on the PSP invariably turn out), putting you in the giant slimy boots of a lone Predator, with all the accompanying goodies. These, of course, include Super Heat Vision™, Invisi-Cloak Tech™, and Ultra Wrist Triangle Red Lasers™, always good for a chuckle ... oh, and for killing Aliens and future governors. Though the press release doesn't say, we'll presume the target for this game is this holiday, alongside the movie.

They're making another Alien vs. Predator movie? Sometimes I just want the movie industry to choke on vomit like this.

I would normally agree with you, but no longer is the movie being made by Paul WS Anderson and co. It is being made by an amateur brother directing combo that has some pretty cool music videos under their belt.
In regards to the game, it looks pretty neat. I still want a new AvP game for my PC ever since Doom3 came out.

If Ahhhnold was in it, neither alien race would survive, and that's just a fact of life.

Damn... This post just bought back memories of the Jaguar version of AVP. Very sick game... I played both versions of AVP and the open endedness of the Jaguar version made it my favorite. Somebody bring it to XBLA pleeease...

1st of most games made off of movies are A not worth looking at or B looks cool but… after playing you regret ever looking at it yet alone buying it. But I have always loved the AVP1/AVP2 (old PC fps) its fun today even with halo2 and all the other fps’s out today. If they were to make a new avp3 or something along the lines of that I know many people that would buy it. With the new graphics we have now they could just revamp the old game with insane graphics and I would love it. But if they made a new game FPS with all new graphics / game play /online multi player…. Every one would love it.
