So... the wii controls just add an extra delay that requires you to shake instead of simply pressing a button to flip a switch. wiiiiiiiiiiiii

Looks nice....its interesting, the Wii in general: the more I play the games, the less I enjoy going back to a traditional dual analog set up, and I dont know why. Case in point: Play RE4 for 10 minutes with the Nunchuck set up, then plug in the classic controller and give it a go and see how long until you're plugging back in the nunchuck.

I was waitiing to get the Wii version of this but this video convinced me to get the PS2 version instead.

There's a lot of pointless waggle going on here, and lame mini-gamelike switch pulling that seems like it would pull you out of the flow of the game.

would a normal port be that hard? huh???

I don't know if I like that. Points for creativity, but it feels more like they're adding waggle for the sake of adding waggle.

This is a good example of why the Wii has such a bad reputation for ports with poorly tacked on waggle. In Twilight Princess, Nintendo put in a great deal of effort to integrate the Wii remote with the game, and as a result it worked really well; most people seem to prefer it to the GameCube version. This, on the other hand, was clearly done at the last minute, and looks like the tacked on controls will actually make the game WORSE than the other versions.

Porting a game and redesigning the controls to make it fit the Wii is a good thing, but only if the developers actively try to do a good job instead of just shoving it in.

I'm getting tired of everyone complaining about waggle. Unless your completely ignorant, you should know that "waggle" can make even crappy games somewhat funner. If it takes you out of the flow of the game then your obviously not into playing it.

For example a game like Spiderman 3, its overall a crap-tastic game but when you get a hang of the web slinging it becomes pretty damn fun, I know after I played it for awhile it was hard to get into it with standard controls on another platform, even with the high res graphics. Again though, the rest of the game was crap.

1:1 control is definately ideal, not that we've really seen it yet, but your so-called "waggle" still can beat standard button mashing if done right, re4 or Mario Strikers for instance.

The only "waggle" I really saw seemed to be in the cut scenes where a small Lara appears on screen and you have to move both remotes to do some action. Everything else from breaking down walls, to uncovering symbols, to making the motion to pull a lever seems like it will enhance the experience.

Of course a lot of Tomb Raider games have looked good until you actually played them and found out the play control (among other things) was horrible.

Most are have the stupidest remarks to this video! "Waggle" WTF!!!! YOU Dumb Internet Morons! THIS GAME LOOKS FRAKING AWESOME!!!! I love the new ideas! It adds a sense of really being there, way more than those stupid "cut action scenes do." Maybe I'm still in a little shock over Wieringo's death, but you guys that hate this new idea are morons!

Samus wins... But Lora takes home honorable mention.

Also, this may be the first Tomb Raider I look into since the original on the PC (concidering it's a remake, there may be something to that).

Those of you children who are shrieking that waggle is always a good thing need to play Resident Evil 4 to get a sense of how you PROPERLY incorporate "waggle" into a game that didn't previously have it.

I tried playing the original Tomb Raider and hated it. I think I played for about 5 minutes before I got completely stuck in a wall or with a tiger that I couldn't kill or something. I never even looked at another one after that.

Until now. I swear, the Wiimote makes me want to try games all over again. This one looks fun.

I'm with Rich-- the new control system always makes me give a second thought even to franchises I couldn't care less about normally.

Also, I think it's funny that RE4 (which has great control, challenging gameplay, and is a benchmark for the Wii, true) is being used by both sides of this argument. I think that only proves that a YouTube video isn't going to tell us whether or not the controls will be good.
