ezGear making some inspiring Wii junk
These days, companies have got to really put in a lot of work to impress us with the utter trash that they'll make to cash in on the Wii's success. ezGear, if you want our honest opinion about your first effort, it's something of a mixed bag.
Sure, your tennis, baseball and golf attachments are really useless, but that kind of useless is so last year. What we're looking for is a special kind of useless. But hey, what do we have here? A boxing glove that you slide your Wiimote and nunchuk into? Wow. That really is awful. Nicely done. We've got to say though, you've outdone yourself with the Wii Sparring Glove, which is ... a sparring glove. It's inspired enough to remind us that even if video games aren't high art, making crap for them most certainly is.

Brass knuckles would be nice.

The greatest thing is the product description.
http://www.ezgear.com/Wii/WiiBoxing.html
"Specifically modified to work two ways"
You can place the wiimote and nunchuck into the specially designed back pockets or you can....
wait for it...
"Hold the remote or nunchuk in the palm of your hand "
Man now that ultra new and exciting, we're playing with real power now.

I'm pretty sure that all these companies do is sort through the shelves of their local Salvation Army, find the nastiest pieces of used sporting goods, slice or drill a hole into them to fit a Wiimote, then ship 'em off to market.

Why not just buy a pair of weighted gloves so when playing WiiBoxing, you will get a little more of a work out.

LOL $30 for a crappy vinyl sparring glove? It does, however, "give a lighter feel than the boxing glove". Thank God for that.

Does the boxing even work that way? If you slide it into the top of back of the glove, won't it be pointing at the screen when you punch?
Or have I been playing boxing wrong. Which is certainly possible because it's the onl Wii Sports game I completely suck at. The controls are awful.

Don't knock it until you try it. These gloves really work. You don't need to point the IR at the screen to box with the Wiimote or nunchuk. I have used them and they work really well. And it does really feel more like boxing with the gloves on.

The only utility I see in the gloves is if the wristbands aren't worth trusting. Oh, and by imagination, boxing with wiimote+nunchuck on the back of your hands doesn't feel the same as boxing with things in your hands, but $30 don't justify it.

I have seen the sports kit and the boxing gloves and believe it or not, they actually make the game more fun.
