Ghost Recon creative director moves to Bungie

Christian Allen, former creative director at Red Storm, which creates the Ghost Recon games, has taken a new job at Bungie as "design lead." Allen doesn't say what game he'll be working on, but having been a Marine and working on one of the top military-themed franchises in existence, we're going to guess it involves guns -- which he seems well-versed in.So, super speculation time. Now that Bungie has Halo 3 almost in the bag and they've brought this guy on board, what could they be working on? A Halo-themed squad game? A Halo-themed squad game? Or, a Halo-themed squad game? What, you don't think it'll be a squad game? Ohhh, you don't think it'll be Halo-themed. OK, in other news, Nintendo isn't making Mario games anymore either.

Star Wars Republic Commando, but with Spartans, Omega Group would be good, they could set it during Halo Wars, but make it a Squad Based FPS.
And Lucas Arts where is Republic Commando 2.

so will this game suck as much as the others he has worked on? ghost recon was a great game, one of my favorites. GR2, GR:AW and GR:AW2 were crap.

lead and Art Lead on Ghost Recon left Redstorm a few years back. He is making a top notch shooter:

GRAW & GRAW 2 were top quality games. If you didn't like the change from the previous installments then that's just a shame.

over the top, movie scripted story crap. it was alright if you like arcade type shooters.
i was too harsh. not his fault. i take it back. sorry "Serellan". i know ubisoft controlled the series direction and you had to try to polish those turds. you did great.

I'm thinking Red Storm realized that a creative director is a waste of money as every game they make is basically the same and not very creative. I don't think he moved to Bungie, I think he was hired by Bungie after being fired by Red Storm.

Despite how 'watered-down' GRAW is compared to Ghost Recon, it's still hardly suitable for those that only like arcadey shooters.

Good news for GR fans. Bad news for Bungie fans.
Bad move. This guy was the MP lead. If that ells you anything, GR has been steadily going down hill in quality.

I never liked Gr:aw series,well In fact I never enjoyed any game with "Tom Clancy's" in the name.I wonder if Bungie is working on a new Maranthon game or a non-halo game.

Just so you know, bungie HAS said they wanted to move onto a NON halo theamed project once they were done with Halo 3.
But they also admited that they are going to make more Halo games too. (Most likely not involveing the chief)
So this chould in fact go two ways.
Non Halo squad based game.
Halo squad based game.
Just caues it's bungie doesn't mean it HAS to me halo. That whould be like saying anything myemoto(SP?) is working on HAS to be Mario/Zelda/Any of nintiedo's installed roster.

I'd love to see a squad-based tactical shooter featuring ODSTs or the Spartan IIIs from the Halo universe. Something where the weapons do the amount of damage they do in the books. I think it could be a lot of fun if done right. Although multiplayer would be an issue, it'd basically wind up being like Team SWAT in Halo 2.
