Is this another instance of Fable syndrome, where people are inexplicably interested in the sequel to a game that proved to be utterly worthless??

I don't know about you but I loved Fable and so did everyone else I know who played it.

Sure it could have been better but to me it was a great game and I can't wait for the Fable 2

Yeah I don't understand the whole Fable-hate that's going on. It was still a pretty good game, even if it was too short and not all of the promises that Peter made made it to the game. I'm excited for Fable 2.

I think what the problem about the 'Fable-hate' is that is stems mostly from people that didn't play it. We all heard what it was supposed to be, and sure it didn't live up to the hype. However, it was still a great game in it's own right. But if you didn't play it, you wouldn't know that. All you would know is that it was supposed to be 'so good' but everyone is complaining about things that were left out, so they assume the game must be horrible. It is far from horrible. Fable wasn't 'the greatest game ever', it wasn't even the best game on the Xbox, but it was up there. Man... Fable was the first game I ever pre-ordered too... and I'm glad I did. I can't wait for Fable 2, but I will just incase something stupid happens that they push them to release it before it was finished like the first.

But now if you want to be talking about being excited for a sequal to a crap game... someone please explain to me the mystery of Killzone...

I'd be really surprised if they got a sequel out so soon. With as much work as the engine would need in order to be worth playing (having tried the first one...sigh), and there's no way they could have built a completely new engine from scratch in this time.

Either that, or they're taking notes from Blizzard - give 'em a release date, and then postpone it umpteen times...

The Battalion Wars release caught my eye... Although if it did come out that early it'd probably mean no online multiplayer... =(

Red Steel did suck, but it had potential and now that Metroid Prime 3 perfected FPS controls RS2 should in theory work out to become a good game. Red Steel did end up selling I think a million copies if not a good amount for 3rd party.

The shooting parts of red steel were great and pretty intense, but the sword-fighting was just plain stupid. I stopped on the one were you wait ten seconds while the guy runs out of a door and down the stairs to get to you. Why am I not allowed to just shoot him?

If they had simply allowed me to use the sword whenever I wanted to (wouldn't even have to be 1:1), the game would have been incredible.

Let's hope that would be the improvement in RS2.

There has been no confirmation of a 2007 release date for SSB Brawl in Europe. If anything, the hints have been of a 2008 release and this list further proves that indication.

Pokemanz (let me show you them)

May/probably will get:

All in all, I'm satisfied (as long as I get my Halo fix)

I might be in the minority but I personally enjoyed Red Steel. I avoided for months due to all the hate but finally rented it when there was nothing else to rent. I was actually pleasantly surprised.

True there are aspects that needed work:

Sword-fighting controls need to be revamped.
Ducking and creating cover seemed to be broken
Non-consistent quality of visuals

Other than that it was really a fun game. I personally thought the gun controls worked and we've seen games that have improved upon them. I liked the story too. Maybe it felt like a substitute to Shenmue to me. In any case I really don't think the engine itself needs that much work. They should be able to easily fix these problems.

I liked it too. Finished it a couple of days ago, and the later maps look very nice. Don't really know why people bitch so much about it. Sure, there's a lot of room for improvement, and some details don't look very polished, but it's still a very fun game, at least IMHO.

I agree the way they broke up the shooting and sword fighting sections was really unrealistic. I think this mechanism probably added more negative to the game's reviews then it may seem, eventhough it seems like something that could be easily changed and corrected.

anybody ever play Gunz Online? now that's a game that balances gun and sword play.

Two things:

1 - The release date on that list for Metroid Prime III is incorrect.

2 - I'm much more excited about the presence of Batallion Wars at the top.

Sorry I didn't like the shooting or sword stuff in Red Steel. It felt all retarded, in the sense it was slow to move. Wario Ware smooth moves had a sword fighting boss that actually worked very well, they should copy that.
I saw potential in the game, but it failed to be a solid game. It sort of reminded me of Geist for gamecube it had great ideas but it simply didn't come together very well but I would very intrested in sequel if they fixed everything.

I liked Red Steel. Not the best game I have played, but a friend loaned it to me so it wasn't like I was out any money. BTW When I had the game, my left hand was injured, so when it came to the sword fighting moves, it was quite painful to play to say the least (I did suffer through it and beat the game)
