If you were among those who had an issue with the addition of a My Chemical Romance pack to Guitar Hero II yesterday, maybe your spirit will be lifted by this news: It was revealed at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival that the Stone Roses track "She Bangs the Drums" will be included on Guitar Hero III. If you're unfamiliar with the Roses, check out the entirety of their eponymous first album, considered by many to be one of the greatest pop records of all time.
What's more, this is apparently just the start of the European-based song reveals, with more tunes that hail from Our Fanciest Continent to be revealed at the Leipzig Games Convention. We've still got our fingers crossed for Falco.
um no, Pop has become a genre, pop is the actual genre of such groups like NSync, Back street boys, New kids on the block, Micheal Jackson, Brittany Spears, so um don't say it's not a genre just because the word for it was derived from the word popular.
The Stone Roses really ought to be a must-listen, the first album is phenomenal, and I still listen to it once a month, at least. The fookin' NERVE of Splinter to assume Stone Roses would lead to an EMO situation... Get your timeline straight, mouthbreather, this band influenced the bands that influenced the EMO bands.
And to "Lifted 0ne 4l9..." You probably don't realize it, but you sound like an GRUMPY OLD MAN... The one that corrects people's vocabulary at the party? The one that broods at home confused because you aren't invited to the next one? You don't want to be that guy, do you? Lighten up! Pretend it's 4:20 and get an early start!
Emo? XD XD XD The Stone Roses are emo? Do a little fact checking, hon.
It's not exactly pop, it's alt-rock that happens to be poppy. What's wrong with pop anyway? The Beatles were a pop band, we can sit and argue all day but just cause shitty late 90s teen stars got labeled as pop doesn't mean they set the standard. Some Britpop would also be fantastic, Blur, Pulp, Oasis. It'd be good times.
Also Amen to Radiohead in Guitar Hero, Paranoid Android, My Iron Lung, or Just would make me a happy camper.

A Stone Roses edition would be absolutely amazing. Get it on Rock Band so we get to sing along in our best Ian Brown voices. Awesome!
