Toys R Us puts BioShock on shelves already

@djdatz, heh, i had the exact same experience this morning after I saw this news item, I started to get all excited about getting this game a week early - meanwhile it's not even on my radar of games i want to get , lol. called a toys'r'us in mississauga and the guy was quick to state the game hasn't been released yet.

@toro, if you're in Canada (and possibly the USA), blockbuster has a "no late fees" policy. so you rent the game, keep it for up to 45 days and return it and only pay a "restocking fee" of $1.75 (a late fee by any other name, wouldst still smell as sweet?)

Damn people on Ebay selling them for $110+ Spoiling the fun for people who actually want to play the game. Guess the first person who finds them for sale should just buy the whole stock. Think how much profit you'd make.

I just called a Toys R Us near me in SoCal, and all I did was ask for the video game dept. and she in turn asked me if I was calling about BioShock. She said that they got an email from coporate that they are not to sell them before the specified date and that they didn't even get a shipment anyway. It was just funny that she already knew why I was calling.

East coast TRU stores have been selling early. I just called 2 stores in WA state (where I live) and both said that they will not even get the shipment until Mon or Tuesday. They both asked if I knew what stores were selling it early. Both guessed it was East coast stores as it has happened before. One told me that corporate will be issuing fines to stores that sell it early as 2K will be sending fines to corporate.

I just called the store nearest me. The woman answered my question before I even asked if they were selling it. She said they've gotten a million calls tonight. :-)

LOL mt TRU did have any or any ones around Va bch Va cause the store sells are so low . the sales guys was like i wish we did or i would have bought one

@49 A friend of mine told me about it. He said that gaming companies pay to find out about the store that sold it early. Apparently you call and they ask for the receipt as proof. Not sure how much or anything.

I love it. i check fanboy called up my toys r us. They sold me and my friend both a copy and offered us the madden combo deal. gotta love failure.

Xenocidic...living in thornhill...which is just a tad north of T.O...puts me in Canada still. Canadian retailers always get their shit late and that always crashes the party for me. Although...EB IS doing a midnight launch of Halo 3...which means...thats where i'm going. Oh...and because Canada always gets their shit late...we always end up on the backside of fuckups like this. meh...doesn't matter to me...i didn't even want bioshock. the only reason i might have wanted it is for bragging rights.

This was GREAT! I read about this and went to a Toys R Us in Metro Detroit and picked up a copy of the game. When I got to the games counter, there were 2 Microsoft reps talking to the girl behind the counter. I for sure thought they were laying the law down but decided to still give it a shot. With the 2 Microsoft reps next to me, I asked to purchase 1 copy of Madden for 360 and 1 copy of Bioshock. The Microsoft employee looked at me and said "Buying Madden? Its a great game." I then told him that I had recently purchased an Elite and he gave me some Microsoft swag for my purchase (a Halo 3 bracelet and some laynards). I almost crapped myself as I walked out the door with my copy of Bioshock a week before everyone else. From what I have played, Bioshock is pretty amazing so far.

@djdatz, lol, yea I played off blockbuster's shadowrun starting from launch for quite some time ...hehe... rogers has no late fees as well but it doesn't apply to games , so i never rent there.

how many x3f'ers are in the GTA? we should have a meet or something.

The toys r us in tulsa oklahoma always sells games early basically when they come in they go on the shelf so no surprise here.

Can anyone confirm whether bioshock is region free? I want to save 50 New Zealand dollars and buy mine from playasia.
