"Borderlands will be available Holiday 2008 for PS3, Xbox 360, and Games for Windows."

which, since it is also on the ps3, means it will be out around spring of '09...

Whereas the Xbox 360's special feature will be, it can run at 60fps and have more vibrant and clearer graphics than the PS3 version... =P

I wish someone would make a First Person game where you DON'T just run around and shoot things. No guns. At all.
THAT would be ground breaking.

Nice, next year's gonna be the year of the "post-apocalyptic worlds" with Borderlands, Rage and of course Fallout 3. Some people will probably say "OMG it's the new WWII", which has a ring of truth to it, but personally I LOVe post-apocalyptic stuff.

The other thing I'd like to see more of is steam-punk...

I've always thought a game in a steampunk setting would be sweet. I want to be a game designer, and I want to know: what genres would benefit from steampunk trappings, in your opinion? Oh, and look out for Bloomin' Games:D

First person is quickly becoming a standard for many genres not simply shooter(such as adventure, many sports games offer a fp mode as well) and in some ways can be a more immersive experience. at least wait for a review or rent the game before you write it off simply because its mentions fps.

I'm really not a big FPS fan at all. I prefer 3rd person games(or "2nd person", as coined by Cliffy B to refer to games like Resident Evil 4 or his own Gears of War).

However, a lot of the games I'm looking forward to right now are first person.

Fallout 3, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Bioshock, Project Offset. Also, I enjoyed what little bit of Resistance I played on my friend's PS3.

So, while I'd prefer to be able to see the character I'm playing, I don't think the FPS genre is a bad thing. I do wish, however, that more games would adopt the "2nd person" style. It's really the best of both worlds.

This game seems amazing from what I have read and i really like it that they are bringing the diablo style into it, but I would like to see some more trailers for it.
