Some of the guys at PS3 Fanboy have had more time with R&C since our E3 hands-on and they'll be writing that up very soon. This is one of the titles to look forward to on the PS3 this holiday season, as the Ratchet & Clank series has been consistently fun and far happier than the gritty, dark and gloomy gaming we've gotten used to lately. There's nothing wrong with having a game that gives us a giggle.

Its one of the first next gen games to make me truely excited. Its something with style, and not another "realistic" game.

So true although there are other games that I like for the PS3 I've always loved the Ratchet&Clank games so this is the main reason I bought a PS3. For goodness sake look at my username :)

Same here. The ONLY reason I'd buy a PS3 is Ratchet & Clank.
Still, I cannot fathom dropping at least $460.00 to play one game, much less dropping another $1500-$1600 for a TV to see it as it was meant to be seen.

This is the saddest part about this article. If this were on the Wii all we would hear is stupid crap like: "It's teh kiddy" "Cartoony ftl!!" "I kiss boys" etc. Do I think it looks rad? Hell yes! Am I Nintendo fanboy? Hell yes! Exo said it right, it's all about style, so from now on let's all be friends. I have a dream that one day on the blue background of Joystiq that the sons of PS3 owners and the sons of Wii owners will be able to sit down and have an intelligent conversation about the merits of gameplay vs. graphics...

I agree with both of you.
Its just more hypocrisy from sony and its arrogant fanboys. The same shit can be said of LittleBigPlanet...the other IT title that all sony fanboys are claiming will draw in the "causal gamer".
First off what the hell does the "hardcore" base of arrogant sony fanboys know about causal gamers and what they want exactly.
Just because its cute and fuzzy doesn't mean it will attract causal gamers. Then theres the price factor and the lack of any real value.
Plus I dare any sony fanboy to deny that IF LBP was on the WIi that the sony fanboys/trolls wouldn't be screaming, "ZOMG the Wii is soo kiddie! What a bunch of losers! Mario is gay! LOLZ!"
In short sony is so hypocritical its amazing. On one hand they praise graphics as the be all end all and yet all the games on their systems don't look any better than 360 games and in some cases look WORSE. But of course they blame it on the developer instead of sony itself who created this hard to develop for machine that just happens to play games.
And then theres bluray...what a joke. Between the sony fanboys, ps3fanboy, and Joystiq its clear that bluray is on some type of mass marketing strategy that involves all aspects of internet news. Almost everyday we see an article that deals with bluray in some obscure and idiotic way. And whats worse is that they're usually not clear at all about whats what.
In number of discs PLAYERS SOLD the HD DVD format is WINNING.
In number of DISCS SOLD the bluray format is winning.
Bottom line? Its still a race and it won't end anytime soon despite sony fanboys desperate fantasies.

Is there a system that worth’s 600$ out there?, not even the wii or the x360 worth 600$ together, my two cents.
For 600$ you could get a badass PC and with gametap and steam you wont even have to touch a console like ever.
Sony turn something that should be basically cheap and turned into some snob console. I believe that is what most people are afraid of, if the Ps3 succeed then the price from consoles will go up to the roof. I mean with games now being in 60$ that would be bad, well thinking about with the amount of money invested in the development of games like Bioshock 80$ games are bound to happen.
Consoles should be cheaper than Pc, I mean they don’t even do what a PC can, IMO I liked more where consoles where at 199$.No console should cost more than 300$.

I'd like to know your definition of a badass PC. "badass" graphic cards are already $400-600, and that's just ONE component of a whole PC, throw in a decent motherboard and a core 2 duo and you are already over 600$. Then come all the other components...

Good doesn't constitute badass though. A 8800 GTS 320 MB is like 250$-300$, and from my own experiences, it's anything BUT badass. Even with a 200$ graphic card, 200$ processor, and 150$ motherboard, you are already close to 600$, then comes the PSU, hard drive, case, DVD drive, RAM, well you get the idea.

Ratchet and Clank games are almost as good as Mario games or even equal and they dont get the kind of respect the series deserve,Sony should advertise this game more often.
One funny thing about Sony first party is that hardly anyone gives a f**k,If you ask anyone what games they want for the Ps3 most of them will answer Metal Gear Solid 4 or Unreal 3.
Games like Socom while in my opinion better than games like GR:AW hardly makes it to the list of the most wanted.the only game that is getting hype from Sony are Killzone 2,Heavenly Sword and Lair.

Do talk, because Ratchet has been milked for 5 games in the past 5 years! At least Nintendo only releases one Mario game of each genre (platformer, racing, golf, etc.) per console, while Ratchet, Jak, and Sly have each had 3 games of the same genre (platformers) just on the PS2!
(For the record, I'm not really a fan of Mario. For "mascot" characters, I prefer Sonic, Sly, Ratchet, and even Starfox, over Mario. But claiming Sony isn't milking Ratchet is bull.)

That works both ways. I post on the NSider forums, and the occasional idiot will come along and talk about how horrible M-rated games or shooters or whatever are.
While it's true that you should never hate a game if it's E-rated or has a cartoony art style, you shouldn't hate M-rated games or shooters just because they are M-rated games or shooters.
Ratchet and Clank Future looks amazing. Insomniac is the master of anti-aliasing.

Well that is in the case someone gives a damn about Hardcores and Casuals, those terms where invented by some douche bags that thought dividing gamers into classes would be cool so they can justify their existence as "Hardocore" or "Leet" players.
While we all know hardcore players are mostly losers or/and couch potatoes, casuals are people that only see gaming as a way of entertainment because at the end that is what it is, people saying gaming is a life style are idiots I mean is just a hobby jeez.
In the end is all about what the consumer wants and if they would pay for it, the thing with the Ps3 is that no one sees a good reason to get one or a good reason to pay 600$.Sony are doing their part to sell the Giant noir brick (El Gran Tabique Negro) but they are doing it wrong, like the PSP, the PSP is a great handheld and while some Ds fanboys that must be or hardcore gamers or simply douchebags hate it because they are poor or “X” reason (Because really how can you hate a toy, you must have some kind of issue for hating a damn toy) Sony does a poorly job in the marketing I mean look at those awful PSP/Ps3 ads.
The only way Sony could sell that thing is with a huge marketing strategy and with that I mean, Steal or Copy Microsoft strategy,( MS ads are awesome).Maybe some ads a la Sega could save Sony from it despair.

1st of all, the irony of your name kills me. ForceUnleashed could never, I repeat never work on the Wii. The physics alone would make it take a crap so big you would think that your Wii was going thru childbirth. Notice I said nothing about graphics?
2nd, LBP could not be done on the Wii. Again, the physics calculations alone would immediatly cripple your Overclocked GameCube in a shiny white suit. Repeat, I have said nothing about graphics.
I agree that graphics are not everything, but without continually evolving graphics capabilities with each new generation, gaming experiences for me at least would become stale and boring.
I need NEW vastly improved hardware for every generation that will give me better graphics, better gameplay, better physics, better environmnets, better sound, BIGGER worlds, more realtime detructable environments, more movement/complicated chaos on screen, High Defenition, more advanced AI, more color depth, better lighiting.
Did I miss anything Mr. ForceUnleashed?
The reasons I just listed above is why I have no interest in the repackaged Game Cube.
And if you have not noticed the PS1, PS2, and now the PS3 had platformers like this. I love games from all different genres. From GTA to GT to FF to RaC to SotC, to Okami to Killzone.
And I am absolutely sure I will love LBP and I am also absolutely sure you will be dying to play it but unless you buy a PS3, you will be like a kid staring thru the window at the toystore knowing that you can look but never touch.

Isn't the Halo series doing more or less the same with better
graphics? (at least that is my assumption)
I wouldn't buy any console purely to play one game though, but that's not really a concern.
