I'll pay to see this movie just to ensure Uwe continues to receive money to make movies and show how crazy he is leading up to the release of his trash!

So not only has he proven himself to be a wholly unimpressive director, but he also appears to be inexplicably pretentious. What a wonderful combination.

I actually felt sorry for the guy after reading that. Obviously, he really believes he's doing a good job. Of course, I also feel sorry for people who paid to see his movies.

I haven't read the review but I guess I could understand that Uwe Boll feel that the review was more of an attack against himself that it was a true review of the movie on its on. I could see how Uwe is upset about that. With that being said though, I have yet to see a Uwe movie I liked.

I found that interview to be incredibly funny. It's just sad that he truly doesn't see what's wrong with his movies.

He points out that he's making money by making these movies, and that's what important.. but then simultaneously gets upset at reviewers who peg him for doing just that.

For some reason, I keep thinking of John Waters' first film/gag-fest Pink Flamingos. The agendas seem similar (pushing the envelope). I'm not going to see Postal, but Waters' chicken gang-bang and turd-chewing scenes were way over-the-top, and the film still managed to stand the test of time, even becoming more popular and achieving "cult status."

I'm not defending Boll. He's already proven himself to me as being a misguided and unskilled filmmaker through his previous films, and the transcripts I've read of his interviews make him seem like even more of a buffoon.

However, it seems like Boll doesn't understand why people are so hard on him because this time he actually didn't even try to make a "good" movie. He intended the audience to view it as social commentary, which apparently didn't happen at early screenings (and probably will never happen). Oh well.

Uwe's movies are almost always crappy. I wouldn't call him talentless, as I think he does a better job than the majority of director wannabees in the world could do. But, in the end, the movies he puts on screen suck.

Gamers take offense because he makes games into movies. We as gamers like to see that, but when they turn out shit we feel like somebody just took a dump on our front step.

Wow reading all of that just made me think "what a sad pitiful man". I kinda feel for him, he really beleives in his work and this crazy idea of a conspiriacy theory against rather than just recognizing that maybe his work isn't as good as he thinks.

If he had done Super Mario Bros. or The Wizard would they still be cult favorites?

Oh god I just found out he's making a Far Cry movie too. As if Dungeon Siege won't suck enough.

He does know his movies suck (well at least 1). On the House of the Dead commentary, in reference to the bad reviews, he said something along the lines of "well how good can you expect a movie based on a zombie game to be? its a retarded storyline" and then said he added lots of gore and tits to "improve" the quality of the movie, but still admits its not very good anyways.

I have actually seen Postal and can say that it is actually pretty good. It's not as if its a movie without flaws, but it is very different from his previous work. As for this interview it seems clear that the two don't get along and Chris Kohler isn't going to give Uwe a fair shake any more than Uwe let him get a word in edgewise in this particualr interview. Go see the movie, if it ever gets released, and decide for yourself. But don't let Chris Kohler decide for you. I was in the same theater and can say that people there loved it.
